I'm new to PvP. Is this any good? Any suggestions on how I could improve this fit are appreciated.

Dual rep incursus is ok in a fleet as a distraction. It's not great solo in low sec (which I assume you are taking this) as it has very poor range control as it is slow and does not sport a web so the only thing you can realistically kill is someone who makes a mistake in a kiting ship.

That being said, it's very hard to die in one 1vs1 due to its strong tank but you will eventually die once out of paste.

Ah ok. What would be a good ship for beginner solo PVP?

Atron, Merlin, Executioner, Tristan, Breacher. and all navy ones (firetail, comet, hookbill, slicer)

those are all good. rifter was best of all times but then the dark times came.

your incursus fit is highly cap hungry so that would cost you a critical disadvantage. so you either focus on your dps and points or make a strong active tanking which can hold you enough time to kill the opponent.

I tell you what go spend arround few weeks in RvB there would be good times for you where all basics explained by experienced folks. and be ready to die a lot.

The one, that will hold on long enough to give you time to react to what is going on. Active tank for a newbee skill level can be a hard one, even with bonused ships like incursus or breacher. As you are caldari (my sincere condolences) your natural choice could be a merlin.

Cruiser size passive tank will give you room to breathe, even to try a sling shot, if lucky. Over 200 DPS with all V means even with meta module and low skill you still be able to apply some damage. Same problem with range control, as with incursus though.

Even with the web, range control would still be an issue?

That fit is fine,
the problem is it's a bit (and by a bit I mean wholly ,entirely and truly) reliant on starting the engagement practically sitting on your opponents face.

Works well for anything cruiser and larger provided you can scram it.

Good luck with that.

If you're interested in highsec shenanigans maybe give this a read,

Thanks for this, it has some pretty interesting tactics in it.

That fit has the trifecta of the scram kiting setup you often see in low sec: scram, web, ab

Although The Merlin is kinda slow, if you get tech 2 blasters you can still hit out to decent ranges using null ammo if you get a speedy target like a breacher.

It will however be much better at controlling range with the addition of the web though.

I'm using the fit you recommended, just with t1 mods because I'm space poor. I have insufficient power to run the three guns at the same time. How do I fix this? I have Power Grid Management trained to 4 already. "Only 4.60 of the 60.00 power units are available".

It's worth trying 125mm rails on an incursus or a merlin. Technically lower DPS but projection is much better. This is especially important if you do ever find yourself using T1 guns. Even your first incursus I would use 75mm rails on, fitting is lower and you have enough to manage with the Reps without wirrying about your guns hitting.

Just one thing, always turn off "auto reload" on an ancillery rep. The second your paste runs out you will feel how long one minute can be.

And when you get a little "richer" buy yourself a Federation Navy Comet. You won't ever want any other blaster boat.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

think blasters with null loaded out dps at almost all ranges a 75mm railgun with anti
