Mission specific Large Collidable Structure brackets not showing

So after a bit of play testing I have to come realize that any "Large Collidable Structure/Object" that is part of the mission ie. a trigger (whether for waves or objectives) will not have a shown bracket, even with the default "All" overview and bracket settings. Is there something I am doing wrong that I am unaware of? I thought I've had the bracket system figured out, only just coming back to High sec recently and running missions have I noticed this.

For example: I need to kill a "Gurista Outpost" to complete said mission, I warp in and look for it using the bracket system yet cannot see it. Even though every other "Large Collidable Structure/Object" appears with a bracket on grid. Only once it has been selected by clicking it will the bracket appear. This is with complete default overview setttings using the "All" setting. Why is it not appearing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As you can see in this image I am using the default All overview settings including All brackets yet I still cannot see the bracket for the structure right in front of me. Oops

Just because the tab is labeled "all" doesnt mean everyhting in the configuration is checked. Have you looked at the configuration and confirmed all the boxes are checked?

Yes. I have manually gone through and enabled all types and states in "All"

Fixed it. Unbeknownst to me moons and mission specific buildings are under "Special Brackets" which isnt in overview settings what so ever and is a toggle in the shortcut menus. What the **** lol

Good job on finding a solution to the issue.

I'll definitely have to remember that.

Pretty sure distance between camera and object also plays a factor with objects like LCO's and so on as far as when there brackets are displayed in space (overview not included). Once the camera is physically closer to said object, the bracket should appear unless you haven't toggled "show all brackets".

I believe CCP added that a while ago, ironically due to a bug at the time where every bracket for miscellaneous objects would show up whether brackets were enables or not. It made it difficult to select specific and more critical objects like other ships/rats and so on.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

This is a bug, maybe they made the proximity based algorithm remove brackets more aggressively, maybe it's something else, but these objectives weren't basically invisible until fairly recently.

The special brackets thing is interesting, but I think I have those on all the time for visible moons. Not sure, I'll have to check that the next time I come across a site.

It's not a big deal I guess, the player-base is mostly veterans and we like our game a bit weird. It's not like we're expecting a huge influx of newbies any time soon.

Edit: I can now confirm now that special brackets add a range independent bracket. My test site was abandoned with all the NPC dead and the objective intact. Well, at the very least I got an expedition out of it. Smile
