If you're in the WH and it's a static connection, instantly. If it's a wandering WH, it's random. If you aren't actually in the hole when it closed it's completely random.

caveat: by *instantly*, read: *it should spawn in the probe window in under a minute for you to scan down*.

It's not quite instant even after collapsing a static it can take up to 2 minutes to spare sometimes.

Best way to immediately know is by ignoring all the signatures and when it appears it will be the only one

Well it probably is instantly, but the refreshing of your scan-window takes a moment to see it. Same as you collapse the old one ... it takes a moment until it's gone from overview, even though it is physically not there anymore. You see this even more often, when you scan a sig, that actually does not exist anymore and you warp to the wh and it's not there ... you realize that the sig is still in your probe-window for sometimes 20s or more. So same comes with new wh, which probably gives the incoming ppl still a slight advantage, as many ppl said it's not cool the ones in the wh can see incoming ones without a delay.

But the delay is there ... even if it's only 20s.

well static wormholes are instant respawn , sometimes 10 - 30s delay but they do respawn. there was couple of weeks ago a nasty bug that caused wormholes to not respawn and many people that rolled their statics were stuck for short time.
