Why a new faction?

Just curious, why create a new faction for the next event? Tetrimon is already a thing lore wise and would seem to fit the bill of these "purists." So why go and create a generic group like the Purists with no history or background?

Don't be a troll, trying to relate this to something "new" is just fail. 0/10. The question is a valid one concerning lore. Why the choice to create a new lore faction (not new content btw) over using PF groups that are already present. Its a matter of curiosity, not a complaint.

Just used the hide posts from user feature for the first time. Thats handy. Smile

Anyway to elaborate, groups like Tetrimon and EoM have been around for centuries. It makes sense that these groups have established resources, ships and facilities. To introduce a new group out of thin air, with fleets of thousands of ships wreaking havoc across new eden... makes no sense. Seems like a very forced decision PF wise. Like someone came up with the white "purity" skins and then just invented these Purists just to work them in. I'm curious if there's going to be any kind of background or lore related to this group released cause as it stands it feels like what was very well woven lore in EvE is starting to feel like something that's just been given up on and is being treated like a shallow, lazy tool to introduce new "content."

I mean look at the drifters... all that lead up and back ground. Mystery surrounding their purpose and origins. And it came to an abrupt head with "look, new incursions...yay." It's obviously not the only factor involved but if you're wondering why less and less ppl are dedicated to staying in EvE, maybe it's because it kinda feels like no one at CCP actually cares about it any more. Every release and bit of new "content" is feeling more and more like a marketing ploy and less like game/story development. Like you're giving us a shiny new wrapper to try and make more sales but not doing anything to actually improve the product inside. Ppl might impulse buy for the wrapper but they aren't gonna come back for more.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. (And yea, it's become a little bit of a complaint now I know)

A new radical faction with fleets of distinct warships and facilities littered across every system in known space appears overnight... hella job recruiting. Gotta hire their PR ppl.

Drifters weren't just unheard of one day and forming incursions the next. There were months of pf and lead-up. These purists just "appeared." Not exactly engaging nor well thought out content.

Wanna know another reason EvE is dying a slow death? An out of control troll population that vastly outnumbers the population of actual decent ppl with functioning intellects.

No thing happens overnight, its process. But you can just happen to know about them one day, when its too late. Imagine D-day. A lot of work was made to hide the operation.

And that was the point. I may have worded it wrong. By operation I meant landing in Normandy and nowhere else.

And there is a lot of examples when deception was used in wars. For example russians camouflaged their navy ships as parts of port in one of world wars.

Nothing easier than changing SKIN on Amarr battleship.
