There is 8 navy ships that have no way to acquire the BPCs.

Navy Issue:

  • Armageddon
  • Crucifier
  • Dominix
  • Griffin
  • Maulus
  • Scorpion
  • Typhoon
  • Vigil

These eight ships can only be acquired as complete ships from the LP store. Unlike the rest of the navy ships as well as pirate ships, there is no way for a player to acquire the blueprint copy to buy, sell, transport or build from.

I have tried to search for the reason behind this, but alas I have found nothing or little mention from anyone bringing this up. Personally I find great joy in building my own ships to explode in the far reaches of New Eden. Instead of shipping in these fully built navy ships, I decided to grab some BPCs and build them myself. I was baffled to not find the Griffin Navy Issue BPC available anywhere despite it being an item to search for on contracts. Nothing. Zip. So I expanded my search into other navy ewar frigates. Nothing. Then I decided to check all navy ship to find one of each race is missing a navy battleship BPC as well.

Even when setting aside my lust to build ships to be destroyed, I can't help but wonder how this raises the bar on these ships from seeing real action and popularity in null. Sure they can be brought in, but a built ship is much more difficult and expensive to bring into deep null than a BPC.

Is there a good reason these eight ships have no way to acquire the BPCs?

You are 100% sure it is the BPC? I know they sell the ship built. I'm talking about the BPCs.

All of the navy issue battleships in your list are only available as complete ships from FW LP stores.

The navy issue frigates are available from multiple NPC LP stores as complete ships.

I can't find any solid references to the blueprints for any of the navy issue ships you listed as buyable by players. It looks like the only way to get the ships is to grind LP or buy them from someone who did the LP grinding.

I hope CCP changes this. I am highly interested in buying BPCs of these ships.
