Was helping cleaning on the backyard after house renovation. Helped several times before on clean up, but I come across an intersting item for the first time. A brush that is made in 1808 or 1888 in pennyslvania. Can't tell which year date because there is some "correction" on the label and the label little difficult to read. It appears to be a birthday gift to a person Hernderson (last name), forgot first name. I can go back and take pictues/scan the label if necessary.

What is your oldest possession item? :O

The oldest thing I personally own is an M1 carbine from WWII. It was manufactured by Winchester, probably around 1942. I have a friend who owns an 1866 Winchester lever-action rifle, something that's been passed down through the family for a few generations.

PVP is a question with no single right answer, but a lot of wrong ones.

Man, I've got nothing even close to being that old Sad

Oldest thing I own is probably my Commodore 64C. Don't know exactly when mine was built, but that model was introduced in 1986...

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

I have a Fennings dictionary dated 1768 that was passed to me when my grandfather died, but I have no idea where he got it from. The entry for America mostly discusses the various claims to its discovery, and it makes no mention of Australia.

Piece of Titanic Coal. I'll just go with 100 years old, even though I got it in 1996 when they did an expedition to bring some up. It is real from the wreck.

My grandfather's bronze star from WW2 (he was in D-day). I know my wife has older stuff, just can't remember it off the top of my head.

The atoms in my body was made in the begining of the universe. All my items (and me) are just current, temporary, constructions of the same atoms.

Other then that I got a nice S&W revolver from my great granddad from before WWII. I found some old viking stuff in my backyard once, like some really old nails and such, but I lost it. I think my mother threw it out back when I moved away from home.

Man-made, a nameless Roman bronze coin from the 2nd century AD.

Organic, a trylobite fossil from the Devonian age.

Non-organic, a piece of feldspar about 400 million years old.

Strictly speaking any atom that's not hydrogen was created in stars, so they've not been around since the beginning.

Indeed, I should have refered to elementary particles. But in the haste of posting during work hours, it was not that well thought out.

Colt Series 80 MkIV Officers' ACP pistol.

Umm... there's some assorted books and jewelry I'm probably forgetting, though, too. That's just the first thing off the top of my head.

Oldest thing I actually own, a small fossil Ammonite. 65+mil years old, bashed it out of a rock myself.
Second oldest thing is probably a copy of Robinson Crusoe from the 18th century (I think).
