New Player (Crashing when I'm fired upon)

Took me a while to figure out what was going on, but I finally figured it out.

When I'm being fired at (only when I'm being fired at) my screen goes black, comes back up with a portion of the previous screen image, and it does this every time I'm shot, and ultimately crashes me.

This of course makes it impossible to play the game.

I'm running a Dell i3, 8gig with a Intel HD 44400 4th gen, with windows 7.

I've ran the game in high settings and it works just fine, I get over 30FPS on medium and I like it that way.

Any idea why I'd be running into this?

To reiterate since I've not gotten a response.

I can attack any npc, I see myself firing the shots, but the moment I'm hit by a shot from anything, my game freezes up, goes black, flashes back to a partial screen graphic, I get shot against it freezes up flashes again etc.

Eventually it just crashes, WHY is it I'm crashing when I'm being shot at? As you can clearly understand I can't even play this game at current.

Do you know how to file a bug report? If not I'll walk you through it. Posting on the forums is not the right way to come to a solution- and this is DEFINITELY a bug my man.

I've been testing it and I finally got a response from my windows tracker, letting me know the Intel HD 4440 gpu crashed and was recovering, I saw this message pop right before the computer froze, which happens ever time.

Nothing else in eve causes me to experience this, the game runs nice and smooth looks great, I can even have trails on, I can fire on enemies even when looking at them.

It only happens when I am hit by an NPC, something is causing my graphics to overload, crash and force a recovery when I am being shot at. It's real crappy.

While I do not have the benefit of a recent graphics card and am therefore relegated to Permanent Potato Mode (which you may use in the meantime-- lower the graphic settings), I would advise you to see if you can narrow down which setting causes trouble, and then file a report to CCP (using F12 - "Report Bug" bottom button) because they may not be aware of this.

Programmers don't look around the forums; helpful ISDs MAY forward your inquiry, but the direct way to do it is through a bug report.

Not trying to be an ass here. There is a dedicated forum for this kind of stuff if you scroll down a bit.

Do a search in there and google to see if anyone else has had similar issues and if a solution has been presented.

It's a good habit to get into as I've solved many tech issues myself with very little effort and often much faster than if I had to wait for someone else.

Not to be an ass, you're don't know your stuff very well, if you didn't realize that trial accounts can't post it any other sub forum.

Also you're not a moderator so please do not proceed to tell me or anyone else where to post.

Also on a side note, I reformatted my pc, and went to the intel website got the most recent x64 update and it works just fine now.

Unfortunately there's no distinction between trial and paying accounts on the forum visible to non-moderators such as myself. Apologies for making the assumption.

I, indeed, do not have the authority to tell you where to post. If I were a law abiding netizen the actual approach would be to report your thread to get it moved and therefore make you unable to post in it. I thought that making a constructive suggestion was far less passive aggressive and would benefit you more, not just now but possibly in the future as well.

In any case you've solved your issue and I hope this thread withstands the test of time to guide people who somehow wouldn't think that graphical glitches could be caused by outdated drivers

P.S. you probably didn't need to reformat your computer.

Glad to hear it.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.
