Problem With The "look at" Function

Not sure where to post this, but here it is.

Whenever I use the "look at" option when right clicking someone's ship, I am usually looking to see what kinds of weapons they have equipped (if any), or if they have certain kinds of modules active. But I noticed that ever since they changed the "look at" function (not sure when this was), there are some ships that are impossible to see what weapons they have.

The Confessor is one of these.

When I use "look at" on a Confessor, the camera is too far away from the Confessor to see the weapons - I just realized this may be partly due to my graphics settings, as I play on performance level graphics with very basic utilities checked off like weapons, drones, explosions, etc. If the graphics were higher, maybe the weapons would be visible from the range the camera is at when I click "look at".

But regardless of the graphics settings, this is still a problem with the game, I think, because we have to be able to play on low graphics if we want without hindering our pvp performance too much. Anyway, you used to be able to right click and "zoom in" while looking at someone's ship, but now, since the changes, if you right click in space while looking at a ship, it stops looking at the ship and the ship just zooms by, so you can't zoom in while looking at someone's ship any more without having the ship disappear from view - FYI this is all true as far as I know, but only if the ship is moving - and in pvp, ships are generally always moving, so you can see how this would cause some problems for me.

Does it work fine on high graphics settings? Does it really matter if it does? Or am I missing something else?

You can zoom further by holding right click and then left click and move your mouse in and out

As soon as you right click it looks away it's bullshit you can't zoom in

How am I the only one with this problem?

Right click any moving ship, and click "look at".

Then, when the camera looks at the moving ship, if you right click anywhere in space and move the mouse, the camera completely loses track of whatever it is you were looking at.

This makes it almost impossible to zoom in on a moving ship.

Pretty much all the camera changes are complete trash so I agree with you there. I'm always having something wonky happen, such as my cursor starting a drag selection box etc.
