Imperial Guard Tour Dam-Torsad Ahead Of Coronation

Quote:
AMARR – Residents of downtown Dam-Torsad were greeted with an extraordinary sight this afternoon, as senior officers of the Imperial Guard, including Commanding Officer General Momed Sarshor, toured a number of routes through the Empire’s capital city as part of security preparations for the coronation of Empress Catiz I.

Excited citizens took to the fluid routers throughout the early afternoon, posting pictures and holovids of more than fifty officers dressed in specially commissioned golden ceremonial dropsuits bearing the sigil of the Emperor Family.

In some instances, the Imperial Guard took time out from what is believed to be an inspection tour in order to pose for pictures with bystanders and observers. The Scope was able to secure several minutes of General Sarshor’s time to find out more about preparations for the coronation of Empress Catiz I, which will be held on September 27th.

Speaking when questioned regarding the presence of the Imperial Guard, the General confirmed that “while the exact details of this operation are classified, part of today’s objective is a basic field test of new dropsuit technology that has recently been developed.”

He continued to expand on preparations for the coronation ceremony, and concerns which have been raised regarding security, commenting that that “there are some who would like to prevent the rightful ascension of the Empress to the throne, based on ridiculous notions of inappropriate lineage and impurity. The Imperial Guard is here to ensure that any such heretical behavior and rumors are quashed with extreme prejudice.”

The Imperial Armed Forces remain on high alert since the assassination of Empress Jamyl I a little over a year ago, with a security budget rumored to be in the hundreds of billions assigned to the coronation ceremony, which is due to take place later this month.

I am curious to see what sort of improvements in security have been made to prevent another assassination event on behalf of the Drifter forces. I would imagine trying to defend against an entity which can suddenly spring hundreds of forces at whim would be rather difficult to counter.

I think interesting times lay ahead for the Empire, as, if I recall correctly, Catiz Tash-Murkon will be the first non-pure Amarr leader. I have hopes for a new and curious age for the Empire.

Not brazenly announcing to the public she's going to be undocking a massive ship to show off new military technology when she more than likely knew the dangers would help.... Congrats either way, seems like it came up fast but time flys when your having fun I guess.

I expect Conspiracy + (not a mere Conspiracy) to brew in the Amarrian court.

All else aside. It pains me somewhat to see the auto-translate on these boards continually translate "crowned" as "coronated".

Question.
What happened to the "Paladins" that must protect the heirs and the Emperor. Shocked
What the Imperial Guard? This new military structural formation of the Empire? Shocked

The 'Paladins' are the regular infantrymen. The 'Imperial Guard' is an organization.

Templars - this is clone troopers. (In a new era of New Eden)
In fact it is simple soldiers.
But the Paladins is quite another matter.
"Imperial Guard" - a mystery to me.

Then perhaps you should check your neo-comm?

The list of member corporations of the Amarr Empire includes the Imperial Guard. Their description reads as follows:

"The personal guard of the ruler of the Amarr Empire are drawn from the finest troops the Imperial military can offer. While its core duties revolve around safeguarding the occupant of the Imperial Throne, the Imperial Guard is a large and very well-equipped body. The Guard can project impressive force across New Eden with fanatical devotion to its orders."

Why are you so afraid of your Empress. I'm sure nothing will happen. She is too weak and the enemy is luck.

The Empire and unscientific in the old mistakes.
War on Jove = War on Drifters. (Because somebody has surrendered)

Amarr is the weakest state in new Eden. (On one faith and idiotic tradition of the Emperor's choice. Great achievements not achieve.)

You got it backwards. The Imperial Guard are stationed in Sosala to act as eyes and ears of the current Royal Family. It is always a good idea to keep an eye out on whatever it was us capsuleers are doing. Mother Ma..., I mean Amarrian God help them if capsuleer militia come up with some heinous plot right at the Empire's doorsteps and the Royal Family isn't aware of it.

Also, Amarr the weakest 'state' in New Eden? Surely you jest! I bet the Golden Bana...Golden Fleet! can put up a much better fight against the Drifters than the other members of the Big Four.

Finally, every infantrymen in the Amarr Empire (except the Kameira) are called 'Paladins'. They aren't anything special at all. They are the footsloggers with the laser rifles. Nothing glamorous. 'Imperial Guard' is again, an organisation and will have 'Paladins' in their employ, considering that 'Paladin' is a generic term for the Amarr Imperial Infantry (aka the guys with the laser rifles who get shot at alot).
