Small shield transporters - lolwut?

One may make, eg, a Vengeance with rockets and a small armour RR. Six of these become a fantastic gang for beating the teeth in all manner of objects, with delicious sig tanking capless shooting high-resist efficient remote-repping clustercussing awesomeness.

This is Working As Intended.

However, if you look at the shield side of the equation...there is not a single ship which can actually fit a small shield transporter, due to the CPU cost.

For example.
Small remote armour repairer II - 8 powergrid, 24 CPU, 4.5s duration, 96hp/cycle for 54Gj, 4.8km range
Centii A-type small armor repairer - 11 PG, 20CPU, 5s duration, 116hp/cycle for 106Gj , 5.075m range

Compare this with the shield transporters;
Small shield transporter II - 7PG, 84CPU, 4.5s duration, 96HP/cycle for 60GJ, 4.8km range
Pithi A-type small shield transporter - 4PG, 109CPU, 116Hp/cycle for 115GJ, 5075m range.

This is ridiculous, of course. Four times the CPU for the T2 version vs the armour equivalent? Six times the CPU for the deadspace shield repper vs the armour equivalent? Higher cap use?

I mean, OK, I know shield tanking uses higher CPU (and shield ships have higher base CPU), but this is a family of modules which are basically utterly useless for the ship class they are intended for. You cannot fit any of the shield RR's to any ship where it would make a difference.

Secondly, shield ships have higher signature radius and lower base resists than armour ships due to the EM hole. The efficacy of shield RR's is much lower than armour, hence why you see guardian blobs predominating.

The small shield RRs are a waste of database resources, and are dropped in faction drops, thereby punishing people who get these rats and faction spawns because they lose a chance of getting, eg, an A-type shield booster.

There is a lot of talk of logistic destroyers. Well, guys, you can forget that aside from Gallente, Amarr and maybe Minmatar if they armour tank, because any Caldari dessy which tries to fit even one of these modules will be so crippled as to be useless.

My fix:
Make the CPU only 10% more than the armour variants, at most.
Up the PG cost marginally (PG isn't the issue)
Increase the shield HP repaired to 20% above the armour, or drop the cap use cost of the shield RR's

You can also add faction repairers, too. CN medium and large shield repairers would be marginally useful. Assuming they are actually sensible to fit.

One of those things that's been broken forever because CCP was chasing jesus features.

Part of me wanting a lodi dessy is to thrust that in the lime light!

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.

Shield transporter CPU requirements are derp, no matter what size you are dealing with (Chimmy pilots complain about 'em too, and for good reason). Hopefully CCP is looking at this soon.

Yep. Shield RRs need their CPU use drastically reduced and all DED RRs need their stats changed dramatically. They do rep more, but they use so much more cap that it's not even worth it (it's something like twice the cap for 15% more rep).
