I find the idea interesting, and much better than the current free 'trial' system.

Smartbombs don't work on 0 on any station. So stupid **** like that can't happen.


However, the amount of ganking catties are going to be ridiculous. Mining alts are going to be ridiculous. The Market is going to go insane, and with the influx of new players, probably will skyrocket in price for all meta and T1 ****. Plex prices should go down since more people will be plexing.


Honestly I don't like the idea. I don't like the fact that most people had to pay to even get to a T1 cruiser and now it's literally free. I think it's a **** you to old guard and the amount of whine that Redit and forums are going to get will be absolutely horrendous.


I honestly can't see myself staying for much long really. I'll stick around and see how it goes, hopfully it'll be good. But I can't really see it.

Seems like a nice buff to ganking. I also suspect people will fill up their corp/alliances with so many alphas, that the max war dec fee of 500M/week will be reached. And last night someone already explained a way to me, how to make BILLIONS of isks because of this. Twisted

I have already made preperations for making lots of isk from this. Free ganker alts galore and stocking up corporations to increase war fee is viable.

Best part though is potential to increase eve player Base.

The aim needs to be to increase the ACTIVE paying player base. I doubt this will do it, but lets see.

I don't think a free miner will entice me to start mining. It still sucks.

Remember:

Alpha's are stuck in ONE faction......they can't fly any other faction (exception: Venture).

They can't use T2 gear or ships. No intys for you, scrub.

They can't fly mining barges. Only the Venture.

I believe they can't use jump clones. Pretty sure on that.

They can't fly anything bigger than a cruiser hull. No freighters, obviously.

If they max out all the skills they are allowed to use, they cap out at 5 million SP.

They can use skill injectors, but not extractors.

So, to recap, they are stuck in t1 ships of ONE faction (Amarr, Minnie, Gallente, or Caldari.....)
They can't fly ANY pirate/SOE ships. Or use ANY t2 gear/ships.
They can't fly mining barges/exhumers or ex frigs. No ice mining for them. Gas harvesting, either.
And they can't fly ships bigger than a cruiser. Gnosis may be an exception. Or not......

So Alpha mission bears will be pretty much stuck running l2's (maybe some EASY l3's) for security agents, mining bears are stuck in Ventures, and I suspect they will be SEVERELY limited as to indy/market skills. No PI for them, either.

Seems legit.

I think the most reasonable request for these alpha clones is to hardwire in a green safety status. Defensive combat only in HS and LS.
