Was ratting, finished up a site, went back to Citadel and noticed "returning to ship" message in drone box. Went back to look for drones but they were not there. Met corpie at next site, launched drones but nothing showed in drone box. Could see and order drones around, but could not monitor the damage they might be taking because they were not showing up as "in space". A relog fixed the problem.
