Was only a matter of time before they started to experiment with this. I bet they would love to take Eve F2P but it's pretty difficult as the game and skill system is based on a sub model.

I dont see how it will make them more money. You can play for free, so why bother with paying for anything, you can have nice rp session with zero ISK in account.

Heh, i think I know what will happen later.

They will introduce other Clone states, after Alpha there will be Beta, with more skills able to be trained or active when not paying for subscription. Of course the state will be altered with a certain item purchased for aurum in shop.
