AF's aren't doing anything lately.
Can we give one of them in each racial class access to medium guns?
like Enyo, Wolf, Harpy, Retribution

the others will have to figure something else out.

like the Attack BC with large guns.

This is probably a bad idea, but who uses them anyway?

Why would anyone use an Enyo with medium guns when you can use a Svipul and get 20k ehp and 400 DPS that applies better?

AFs won't be miracled back into relevance by one thing, and if they are, they would literally become the next thing people want/need nerfed into oblivion.

I like the idea but if anyone should get higher class guns it should be t3ds according to the middleclass pattern.
It's tough to kill a frigate-kiling class with a frigate, the balancing view in this context is inadequate.
I dunno what to do to make enyo great again. And I am sad. :' -(

That's actually not the worst idea. If T3D's got up-sized guns it would mean they would struggle against frigates that got in close, giving AF's space in the meta again. It might encroach on HAC's a bit more, but the extra raw tank a HAC can get should keep them having a place.
It would cut back on the destroyer 'role' of Frigate killer, but that role always felt a bit funny anyway. It might not be a bad thing to consider across the whole destroyer class as it would allow them to put out large DPS without needing their currently absurd number of guns relative to size, meaning they could have a bit more room for fitting also.

to follow suit with the tier 3 bc, these would have to be destroyers with medium weapons. they are the only small ship type with enough size to handle em..and they would be t1.
its definitely an idea. however it is outdone by the examples posted above.

they tried that on sisi for dominion (think it was that expansions testing) and it died there. Oversized prop mod abuse the reason given. Made me sad....I was looking forward to that bonus.

Their logic, not mine. Oversized abuse seems to be okay for every thing else it seems. Poor AF...pirates frigs came in, buried them. Pirates adjusted, saw a ray of hope....and t3d kicked them in face said oh no you don't, get your ass back down in the hole and don't you come out of it again.

Weapon Sig radius. Unless you catch the frigate at 0 speed (In which case well tough luck Mr Frigate, even that Titan can hit you), the weapon sig radius would start causing misses to occur, which means sure it has extra range & alpha, but it has much worse tracking and you have a chance as long as you are moving at all.

Someone once recommended a special module for AF's that can act as both an MWD & AB, would prevent the OS Prop from being used, essentially makes all AF's dual prop but only uses one mid.

Others have many of the other reason I came up with covered so I am going to go with power creep.
CCP introduces an op ship or class of op ships so everything else gets a power up pill to compensate no thanks.

A far better idea than trying to find a niche or a place where the AF class has some relevance simply remove ALL of the T3D's and you solve two major problems in one action. AF become relevant again and the OP menace that is the T3D's goes away.
