Sebiestors

So, IGS, I have a question about Sebiestors. Did they always respond well to being patted on the head, or is that something the Amarr bred into them? I mean, I'm not complaining either way; it's totally cute.

I can't answer that because I feel no pleasure from being patted on the head.

My wife responds well to being patted on the head. My mother becomes grouchy if patted on the head. Clan chief rubs the back of his own head when confused or anxious. My father bangs himself on the head often in the salvage corvette and always make that muffled scream back in the day. Everyone in the Enclave responds differently or with different intensity to being touched on the head.

It probably differs between individuals.

I was told I always tilt my head to the right whenever confused or showing interest in anything, and I may tilt my head to the left half a minute later.

Maybe it only applies to female Sebbies? I admit that is what my sample size is constrained to.

My mother hates it. She always respond with violence.

Pretty sure patting people on the head is not a socially acceptable thing to do.

Also, don't pat me on the head. I got sharp pointy teeth.

Somehow, I suspect Alizabeth refers more to metaphorical patting on the head, rather than physical patting on the head. Positive reinforcement has always been an effective tool, Ali. It's rather ingrained into all of humanity.

Also: droll, Ali. Very droll.

Don't pat me on the head. I pat you on the head if you behave well. Or punish you when you don't. Twisted

Never not badpost.

I mean actual physical pats on the head!

Ava generally responded poorly to being patted on the head. Other Sebbies I have known enjoyed being patted pretty much anywhere.

I think Edmund may be right. It might be an individual thing.

Are you talking about, like with children? Or randomly walking up to an adult Sebiestor and doing it? If its a child I'd wonder why your touching kids heads randomly, if it was an adult well....... Huh?

Amarr people are wierd....

Well, I know several Sebiestors. They are all female. Most enjoy being patted on the head. Clearly I need to test this with a larger sample size.

If i don't know or like you and you pat me on the head, I'll likely pat you on the stomach... hard... with the pointy end of whatever pointy object is within reach. As for people I like, they know better.

More and more, I get the feeling I used the wrong initial plosive consonant as the first letter...

Context matters, Ali.

If, for example, I'm crouched down working on a piece of equipment, and someone who knows me, whom I consider a friend or at least a friendly peer, walks past and gives me a pat on the head while saying words to the effect of 'hey, nice work out there today', I'm going to take that as a non-interrupting compliment and say thanks as they leave and I keep working.

If, on the other hand, someone I don't know or actively dislikes pats me on the head while their thugs restrain me, so they can mock me and demonstrate just how futile my swearing and trying to get loose to kill them is... that's not going to be so well-received, you know?

Well, I am going to assume it's not the latter, Arra. In fact, why don't you come over and we can test head pats with frozen custard.
And droll was right. Please look at this post as in the humorous light it was intended.

This escalated quickly, just not sure in which direction.

It's like that damn painting by that artist, you know the one, with all those perspective shenanigans. Four staircases in a square, and the top of one is the bottom of the next, and yet, they all link up ? Shenanigans ! It's just like that, with escalators instead of stairs.

Shenanigans !

Now I want to get me a Sebiestor.

Just to try, of course. To verify the hypothesis.

Hmm. I do like a good head pat, quite a lot, actually. However, I prefer head rubs by a slim margin.

My Sebiestor handmaiden seems to respond very positively to the gesture. It's been implied by one of my peers that it is beneficial to the pat-or as well as the pat-ee.

Of course, you must also do the same with members of the other races to verify whether it's an anomaly pertaining only to Sebiestors.
