so long as you're enjoying yourself, then yes.

if you're attempting to get a limited engagement timer with the mtu's owners, the answer appears to be, decidedly no.

The way I see it is, if they engage me then I will happily scrap with them. If they don't, they get to watch their MTU die right in front of them with my 700 dps on it.

watching in full knowledge that your 700 DPS will scrap them.

You're offering them a clear cut, obvious and very blunt choice. Do nothing and lose the MTU (do any of them actually scoop it?) V Shoot the Big Scary Battlecruiser(tm) and get scrapped.

Ishkurs and suchlike are a lot more subtle. The choice suddenly becomes a bit more of a dilemma: Do nothing, lose MTU V Shoot the nondescript frigate, get a nice killmail and save the MTU.

Meanwhile, of course, yon Ishkur/Daredevil/Dramiel/Incursus is fit perfectly to hold them down and slowly chip away at them without fear of taking much damage in return.

Bluntness has netted you a killboard lush green with defenseless MTU carcasses, and not a whole lot else. Maybe try the subtle approach, mayhaps you'll enjoy it?

I have thought about sizing down to bait them of course. Just have to think of the right ship to do so.

Which is not an easy decision to make especially on a solo account.....for now am going to be happy just getting on their nerves popping their mtu's :)

If you find a friend who is fond of being support ...
... then get him into a logi ship.

Even frigate logi will boost you tremendously ...
... which means you can use a ship that looks even less dangerous.

The things you can do with a logi'd atron.....

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

The hawk is quite good at it. As are the other frigates already mentioned.

Anything not ****ing terrifying that can
1) have a small Sig or tank jeasus himself
2) have a utility high and fitting room for a small neut
3) defang a drone boat quickly
4) take neut pressure without asploding immediately.

Those are your parameters , impress me.

Buy a heap of cheap t1 exploration boats, fill them with enough t1 fitting mods to have a combat probe and a t1 cloak.
Fly to safe spot, drop probes , cloak and scan, or just do it from the undock.

Once you've got something you like the look of, either redock and re ship or just leave it there, chances are you'll spend more in ammo killing an MTU anyway.
The only people who will **** with you are 1) white knights whom are by and large hilarious incompetents 2) someone like me who will swap out the modules for mining gear or something similarBlink
