Just a quick overview of some of the ships so far (in hopefully what can be viewed as a constructive manner).

Slasher-

Interesting design, its got really cool details and colour schemes. Plus its engines are likea fighter.

Pros-

-Cool Engines
-Cool detail
-Confines within traditional Minmatar design of animals and insects
-Feels fast

Cons-

-Turret placement is silly, targets at 90' will be shot through your own wings
-Camera offset is MASSIVE and (personally drives me crazy) blocks half the ship from view even at low speeds
-Cockpit lights seem to be turned off :)

Probe-

Very interesting, it maintains the same shape philosophy. But sadly that shape scheme doesnt seem to suit the ship for its 'exploration & research' role

pros-

-Hi-Def "ooooooh"
-Looks as good as it is
-It has the same jousting stick as the typhoon

Cons-

-Engines are.....very long? for a very slow ship, seems a bit off
-Fins are shaped diagonally to make it looks fast, but its also a very wide ship and the fins are tiny?
-It utilisers hacking modules and scanning equipment, but it has no radars and very few antennas

Griffen-

Ummm, well its got lots of important...looking things...i guess?
But other than that, its pretty messy, hard even to tell what it is. Is it a spacemine?

Could definately do with a re-visit, with no discernable shape or system design it looks very sloppy indeed.

Shield are red, Armor is too, i slapped my heavy neut, all over you. Fingers crossed, broken shattered and burned, across from the bubble and into your hull.

my vote is fat mosquito

but yeah its ugly and has no loyalty to the original design

idk why the art team hates the old caldari looks but every one they touch stops even remotely resembling looking like themselves :/

LEts be fair here, the blackbird did embody some very new and cool shapes and sizes to Caldari design, but that same design philosiphy doesnt apply well to small ships. Perhaps the developer could benefit looking at birds? SInce that is the apparent original design for caldari ships.

But on the whole i agree, there does seem to be a rather big displacement towards Traditional design (though some designs are better in the bin) a theme around them would still be cool.

I can still see the old Bantam in the new design.

But the the Griffin looks like someone strung a draw string through the Black Bird and pulled. They should have flattened the griffin vertically. It would have at least looked something akin to the old griffin.

Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.

I think they all look 1000 times better than the old design and with that contrast my eyes are blind on every flaw the new models might have.

Design themes - Minnie ships from what I can tell, look like bugs. Caldari ships are birds. ORE are fish. Amarr are suprime, Gallante are either A) a face or B) a penis.

I think that sums up the themes.

I like the new ships. At least they look like space ships. Support spaceships meant for doing specialized stuff. The bantam and the griffin have gotten massive upgrades. The probe looks like a scouting ship, more like a little station. Its a minmatar falcon. The executioner, well, its sad to see the old one go. It was beautiful.

I think it has to do with the fact that most of them look like a seven year old built them out of a box of mismatched Lego.

Funny how art perception can diverge Blink

I absolutely love the new Griffin redesign - the important looking things are for me things like antennae and EWAR amplifiers, I get that "lots of expensive equiment there, don't touch or shoot at" vibe from it. Miles ahead of the old design and fits very well with the newer redesigns like Moa, Caracal and the Ibis.

does anyone think ccp will ever remember to implement the animation on the Crucifier hulls?

I'm pretty much nonplussed that the formerly sleek lines and graceful arches of my malediction/crusader are being degraded into what is, to all intents and purposes a knock-off crucifier on its even older model. What happened, production outsourcing to the Brutor Budget Builders Corp?

I know feedback is neither sought, nor going to be taken on board, and it's going to happen regardless.

Disappoint.

Well, if the "feedback" amounts to saying "I don't like it" using fancy words, I'm totally supporting ignoring it.
