It appears I have fallen for one in any event. Not one that breaks EULA which is what I was wondering about. I'll use a trusted third party next time.

I just hadn't considered that players would be allowed to scam via forum posts.

EvE is a game of scams. There are a few places that scamming is not allowed Vis a Vis Forums.

No Scamming in the following:

New Player Questions
Character Bazaar
Or anywhere else that the sub-forums rules prohibit.

For a more detailed response, feel free to file a ticket requesting clarification.

They need to define scam. I assume in Eve a scam is defined as a profit making scheme.

scam: noun - Whatever CCP considers to be a scam at the moment they are reviewing said potential scamming activity.

As far as the Character Bazaar is concerned, if it's even from the same zip code as a scam, you'll get banned for it. CCP's policy for that subforum is pretty much "Ban everyone first, then unban the innocents on a case by case basis."
