Why isn't killing an MTU considered aggro?

Nullsec is boring.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

It isn't scared of setting foot outside of highsec, it is just I do not feel like getting blobbed by bored nullsec carebears at a gatecamp.

Big smile

Though nullsec is the only place I haven't lived, I don't think any nullsec alliance/corp will take me because I refuse to give my API.

You would be flat out getting into any serious wh or LS corp either tbh

Well, currently I am bored with not much to do. Been thinking of wanting to do something else but not sure what...

I have something interesting starting in a few weeks Blink

Let me know then. I can wait...

I did scan down someone who went suspect in a Heron (I believe) and popped both his ship and pod. The CEO asked in a private convo later on why I shot and killed his newbro and I told him what happened.

He laughed and then told me he will talk to his newbro about yellow wrecks. I did send the newbro isk to replace what he lost, to make it easier for the dude.

Do what you did ...
... but pick up noobs to do it with you.

You know where to find them, or you'll have time to figure it out.

Give them simple roles, whatever it is, as long as they feel like they contributed.
Assure them that you will cover their losses* if they want to. (not all want that)

Let them zoom around in a lvl4 using speedtanking frigates ...
... or lead them in a speedy frigate and fly through gorgeous enemy crossfire ... unharmed.

I had some nice Marauder kills before by going suspect shooting MTUs and them shooting at me.

I haven't done this in a long time though and not sure how someone having Stasis Grappler might change things.

Anyone came across and fought vs a missioning BS using grappler? I used to do standard sig/AB tanking but wondeirng if something like Vargur/Kronos with Grappler and their tracking bonus, or Golem with Grappler+TP may change things. Any experiences on this?

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!

Woah! haha I didn't realize I had to select to receive updates on the thread. Sorry for being..... afk..... LOL

Good conversation on MTUs and why they aren't "protected." I appreciate the input. And someone pointed out that by the time I'm rescuing my 100th Damsel, I may just take the shot. I won't argue that. I can see where mission running may get boring after a while. Right now, I just don't have the isk to replace the potential loss of being more adventurous, which is why I'm running missions over and over. I do really want to get there. I'm being romanced by a Corp that wants to move back to NS, but I've not made up my mind. The game has a lot to offer, and running missions is, for me, a start. Once I am independently wealthy, I'll expand the experience. :)

Thanks again.

You can run missions in nullsec, you know......

Cool

That was a LOT of fun.
Bonused Geckos are monsters.
He won, got some juicy bounty from me and some nice T2 loots.
We chatted afterwards and both had a good laugh over it.
Always nice to run into a good sport in the game.

This post is why I missed EvE, and....

...this post may win the Internet today. I can't say way for fear of ruining it, but trust me, it's pure, 100%, unadulterated win in a bottle.

They're designed this way on purpose because highsec doesn't have enough ways to initiate conflict between players.

They're not actually as good as conflict drivers as they could be, but CCP almost certainly won't ever update them because they don't actually care about that at all.

Relevant to this thread: aggressing a Mobile Micro Jump Unit doesn't just turn you suspect, it will make gate guns start shooting at you and it will generate a killright against you.

Well, at least it did a year ago, not sure if it still does now.

you REALLY dont want to initiate conflict whilst doing the damsel.

was overjoyed looking forward to ransoming her back to the guy, but loot fairy took her.
had a good chat and and no hard feelings afterwards, regardless

give it a go in a mission without a drop-off-item objective that is 55m or so to buy off contracts.

Yes, when I land on an MTU, whether it is being used or not, when I target it and unleash my guns I will start flashing yellow and anyone can shoot at me. Now people like Bumblefck and I are trying to get the mission runner angry and shoot at our ship, which in turn makes it so I can engage the mission runner in his PvE ship while I have my PvP ship on his juicy ship.

Sometimes it works but most times it does not. Luck of the draw.

Which is exactly why I don't engage you. haha It would take about 2 minutes and I'd be out of cap, tank disabled, dead in space, as I watched the sparks fly hoping I can warp my pod before you lock on. I'm new-ish at the game, but a 10m isk MTU isn't worth my 400mil + BS set up. :)

After you've rescued your... 100th? damsel in distress, you'll get bored enough to take a shot.

Cause definately no one would save him. You want to get your 'reward' from him?

Whatever floats your boat...
