Typing Problems with wine ?

Hi,

i think that something has changed in the last time (Wine Versions / Patches) with keyboard handling in chat / textboxes.

If i type in chat / search / description windows in the last week / maybe two weeks there are keystrokes with got lost, maybe 1-5 out of 100.

what i have checked:

it is not the hardware because it is on 3 different computers.
all keyboards have usb connection.
it is on 2 different mac os Versions 10.9 + 10.11.

okay, my typing is not the best and english is not my native language but the rate of errors in my typing has increased drastic.

did anybody else get the same problems or am i simply getting to old for computers ?

yes!

thought i was going crazy at first lol

a couple of weeks ago chat boxes and in game notepad started dropping characters. at first i thought my keyboard was getting flakey, but it seems to only ever happen in the game client. (i was actually waiting to see a post from someone else before filing a report)

it also seems to only be dropping certain letters and only the first time the letter is entered. i've only noticed it dropping a, c and v but there may be others i've not noticed.

(edit: testing just now i see that it is happening after alt-tabbing out and back into the game)

Yep same, typing (and sometimes clicking on text, like in the market window) lags the whole client for about 30 seconds, then it goes back to normal. This is pretty unplayable.

Hi,

the wine update yesterday didnt change the problem.

i can confirm now that it is only the first press of a char in one text field that is missing and it seems to be that it will not happen to all char.

i made sure that i didnt press crt/cmd/alt but it looks like its withs keys that have different repmaps.

my mostly missing char is "c" but also some others.

This issue has now been fixed - latest Wine version is now wine-1.9.10-192-g8cb50d1-ccp-master-68.

out of curiousity, are you able to give a little bit of detail about how or why it was happening?
