Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to replicate your Quickbar contents to another Character ?

Thanks

The reply is: it's not very easy.

You may google / seach the "EvE Technology Lab" forum for this very question and find you you have to do some tricks including copying two *.dat files renaming them with the ID of the desired characters.

There is also a little other trick but it's of limited use: if what you want to check out can be fitted on a ship, you can put it on a fitting and export it, then import in the destination character.

Thanks for the response, it was a large list of build materials that I want to have neatly in folders on all my Characters. Guess it's one for the 'little things' thread to have an export :-)

You definitely can do this, I remember doing it a long time ago. Of course, I can't find the old post that explained it better than I'm about to.

I'm running win7 and the files are here:

C:\Users\Krawdad\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings

Note: the AppData folder is hidden by default. On win7, in the explorer, click on 'Organize' then 'Folder and search options', then select 'Show all folders.'

The core_char_xxxxxxxxxx files are for the individual characters (obvious?) and the 10 digits correspond to your unique character id. These might contain the market data, but I'm not certain. You could try copying the one with the settings you want and renaming the copy to give it the character id of your alt.

The core_user_xxxxxxx files are the ones that definitely contain the quickbar data (not sure what else they contain.) I imagine the numbers in the file name do correspond to something, but I don't know what. They're all .DAT files, but their size and modification dates might give you an idea as to which one belongs to which of your accounts. You could also open them in Wordpad or something else and see if you can catch any clues as to whom it belongs. Mine had a bunch of illegible characters with quite a few "Krawdad" strings in it...

I just copied my main's user file to an alt one, and it did give me the correct quickbar layout, but I haven't checked what else is different yet.

Hope this helps.

You'd think that this would be a nice exportable/importable function for CCP to add in this area of extreme customer butt kissing. DItto on many other long requested export functions. (I.e. BPO inventory with me/pe's would be nice)
