I'm sure this has been mentioned before. But can someone tell me why I have to spend real life time watching a warp screen and selecting the next jump gate location by hand to make it faster.

PLEASE get rid of warp speeds. What's the problem if I get there too fast? I'm sure the creator is really proud of the warp anim. and I know it's likely been around for the last nine years like dust in the corner of a room...but as a newcomer with a fresh perspective, the warp screen animation and the whole warp speed of each ship is a real world waste my precious time. I don't buy PLEX so that I can sit and watch warp animations and click "jump" on each star gate so that I don't have to wait even longer for the ship to creep at a snails pace toward the jump gate. I buy PLEX to actively play, fight NPC ships, mine for planet resources, explore wormholes etc. I suppose if the kind of customer that CCP is looking for is those who have nothing to do all day but sit in front of their computer and click "jump" after each warpdrive active voice...and not those of us that only have a few hours a day to devote to a game...then they are on the right path.

And if that isn't an option for some reason. How about making autopilot worth pressing by making it jump the next location not show up 30km away. What a useless tool. Does anyone use autopilot without going to the fridge to make a sandwhich and then stopping by the restroom to take a crap? It's bad enough that training level 5 take 19 days for some things...but at least I can go play another game for 19 days and come back to EVE to finally have that training done...

But I'm a new player so how long will this game keep me interested. Seriously the developers need to realize this may be their life's ambition...to endlessly collect dollar bills for in game excitement...but they better get rid of the boring parts or I won't be renewing my PLEX subscription beyond what I have.

I would like to install an advance navigation system, which will occupy all low slots of the ship, to allow me to auto-pilot to 0km of stargates so that I can watch netflix without interruption.

Improbability drive wouldn't be so bad. 20 minute cooldown, warps you to a random location anywhere? I can see this as a unique Nestor module quite frankly. Sounds like fun for your exploration class battlewagon?

How about a storyline to fix the problem. "Transwarp" drive technology stolen by 7of9 and provided to CCP that allows jumps of up to 10 gates in one shot...they could go on sale for a cool billion. Of course they would have to be limited so that you can't transwarp a whole fleet at one time...but that's just a matter of programming.

When they had this in Star Trek Voyager they had it long enough to return but to keep the story going they got lost in the delta quandrant AGAIN and of course no one remembered how to build the trans-warp drive. Guess they lost the blueprint.

I don't see any need for that kind of amnesia to keep the EVE story going though. Give us trans warp drives!!!!

If CCP has any sense at all they will ignore 'customers' like this. I'd bet money that if CCP simplified the game to the point where you press one button every 24 hours and the game plays itself, he'd eventually make a thread named "CCP, please extend button push duration to 48 hours, some of us have a life!!!!"

Maximum verbosity seems to be my issue . People can't keep up it seems. What is it with this generation? People can't read something and glean what I'm trying to say...or am I too confusing?

I'll make it real simple for you. I don't want to watch warp animations. I want them to get me there with as little real world delay as possible so that I can play the f-ing game. Not sit on my ass pressing 'jump'. If that's the sort of thing you like then you are the perfect 'customer' for CCP. And yes and I am a paying customer, as a noob that is only way to play more than 30 days. And no I don't expect they will pay attention. Only players like you...apparently.

I'm starting to see my problem here. I'm the only one in the eve universe that doesn't like jumping from system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system to system....

I'm sorry, but your issue isn't gates or travel time.
It's lack of patience and a too strong desire for quick fixes that keep you "entertained".

The gates and the time spent travelling do nothing else but surfacing this.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

Warping is part of the balance of ships. Naturally the bigger the ship the slower it is. Its a vital part of the game and will likely never disappear.

It is the same reason a battle ship can't chase a frigate. Its about force and projection. If you can't warp you cant escape. I can hold you and kill you. If your in a big ship and you are warping to a gate. I have a better chance of catching you, this causes you to adapt. Scouting, fleeting, all aspects of the the game play off each other. You must adapt or you will die.

For there is only one authority in this game, and that my friend is violence. The supreme authority upon which all other authority is derived.

Find something productive to do while enduring the warping around.

Like reading, watching clips, paying your taxes, looking at Killboards, indulging in wife agro, looking up people in Local (check their KB), examine the Market, train Market skills and do remote shopping, admire the Universe, look at the Starmap and plan routes and/or places you want to go and see, look-up out of game EVE apps/websites, watch/read online medias, troll Local for even's sake.

Plenty to do while 'in-Warp'.

Nope, that would be impatience.

People know what you're trying to say, and they disagree with it.

That's entirely your problem, not CCPs.

The game includes warp times which are a product of game balance and used for various tactical purposes by players, CCP are unlikely to rewrite their code to suit you and your impatience.

It is up to you to adapt to the game, not the devs to adapt the game to you.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

OK. I relent. It's past time to end this thread. Some people made some very good points..I'll paraphrase the ones I found most useful:

1. Casual Players.....who needs em.
2. Warp disruption - mid stream. ( I didn't even know that was a game feature).\
3. Give me all your stuff if you quit...agreed....

I didn't realize that warp 'games' is one one of the core life-bloods of eve. Jump Gate attacks must be what most players like to do...I should have known by the number of wrecks (including my own) around jump gates.

Thanks for lively discussions, sorry CCP and everyone else for the ranting...

Final point...they got rid of trans-warp drive because that would have killed the show...oh right....Duh!

Jothan.

OP, you don't want every EvE player to be able to instantly go anywhere in New Eden with some sort of fast travel thing.
It would be "hotdrop'o'clock" everywhere all day every day...until the game became a completely different game.

OP, look up jumpbridge, jumpfreighter, cynosaural, and drag bubble. You might be interested.

The problem is your impatience, and your choice to play a game that requires patience. If you want to play an instant gratification game that has instant travel, there are some available. EVE isn't one of them.

Your problem is you, not jumping gates/traveling.
