So, I wanna roll a hole. How do I make sure I'm on the "right" side of it when it collapses?

well the best way is to use a big ship. you need to find the stats of mass of the ship, and how much the mass of the WH you are rolling can hold.

for example look at the stats of this WH.

http://www.ellatha.com/eve/wormholelistview.asp?key=Wormhole+A009

so for that particular WH it can withstand 500,000,000 kg before it closes.

now take a look at this battle ship...

http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Armageddon

its total mass is 105,200,000 kg

so bassically after the 5th time going though the WH in that type of ship... it will collapse. each ship has a differnt mass, and smaller ships will have even smaller mass. the idea is to plan it to where it will close on your jump back into the WH you want to be in.

best way is to have a friend help out or keep downgrading your ships to smaller ships.... to get on the side you want...

hope this helps....

In case you don't know the terms...
Rolling BS- Higgs rigged+500mn microwarpdrive. Might not fit with the rig through c2s I've never rolled those.
Rolling HIC- Higgs rigged+500mn MWD with 4 or 5 bubbles on it.
Hot- Jump with mwd on.
Cold- Without MWD.
Stage two- AKA "half mass", show info reads something like "blah blah mass has been put on it but not to a critical amount". Means hole is more than halfway dead.
VOC- AKA "crit" or "stage 3". Show info reads it as "On the verge of collapse". Means it's almost gone (forget the exact %).

Show info is your friend. Assuming your hole can put a hot rolling bs through it, (and the exact specifics depend on the type of hole) you generally do hot-hot passes until it goes stage 2. After that go cold-hot until it goes VOC. If it goes VOC when you jump cold, good! When you jump back hot it should collapse.

It gets a bit more annoying if it goes VOC on your way back hot. You have to get your rolling HIC. Warp to the hole, and put all of your bubbles up. Each bubble reduces the mass of your ship by 80%. 4 bubbles up gives you less mass than a capsule! This means the chance of rolling it going in is incredibly small. On your way back, turn on your MWD and jump back through. Repeat this until it collapses.

Some of the details might change depending on what class of wormhole you're rolling, but the general idea stays the same.

Edit- Words of warning. Always fit a probe launcher or carry it with a depot in your cargo hold. Things can go wrong sometimes and you want to make sure you don't have to self destruct. Make sure nobody is looking to kill you the moment you jump through that hole. And be VERY careful not to go hot-hot on a hole that's stage 2 unless you know for SURE you can't roll it from stage 2. Due to mass variations (a wormhole can spawn with up to 10% more or less than standard mass) it IS possible to roll your self out FROM stage 2 if you go hot and get unlucky. That is why you go cold first on most stage 2 holes.

This is a signature.

It has a 25m signature.

No it's not a cosmic signature.

Probably.

Btw my corp's recruiting.

just keep note of all the stats.... for the WH that was linked above... only 20,000,000 kg worth of mass can go though it at any given time... so that battle ship would not fit.

WH's often have restrictions like this, so knowing what WH you have... the restrictions of the WH.... how many people you have... the size of the ships you have... and how many jumps you need to go though to collapse it.... those are all factors you need to take into account when rolling a WH.

hope this helps....
