Hi all, it's been about 5 years since I last sat my ass in a pod so I'm trying to get my head round the industry changes, most of which seem logical and look nice and shiny - Good job CCP :)

INVENTION
1) When inventing does the ME/TE of the T1 bpc still have no effect on the resultant T2 bpc?

2) When I put in a 300 run T1 bpc it tells me that the resultant T2 bpc will have 10 runs. What determines the fact it will have 10 runs?

3) Am I right in thinking the number of runs on the T1 bpc now determines the number of invention chances you get? (eg, my 300 run T1 bpc would give me 300 chances at inventing a T2 bpc provided I put enough datacores in)

SYSTEM COST INDEX
From reading dev blogs I understand that it is used to determine the installation cost of jobs, however an invention job in a supposedly expensive station (system cost index 5.04%) costs 392isk, a grand total of 78.4isk per finished item (assuming 50% success rate). Barely enough to be considered a rounding error.

1) Are there scenarios where the system cost index makes a significant difference (Mass producing low profit T1 items maybe?)

2) Do standings with the station owner affect the cost of jobs or is it purely driven by how busy the station is?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

1: ME / TE of the BPC has no influence of the T2 BPC. Every T2 BPC will have 2 / 4 , unless you use decryptors to modify this.

2: The 10 runs are determined by the item type the outcoming T2 BPC is. The runs can be modified using decryptors.

3: Per Invention run, 1 BPC run is consumed. You are correct in your assumtion.

System Cost Index: Sry, haven't fully figured it myself yet :V

Thanks for the reply, just the info I was after.

As for System cost index, I just did some manufacturing and it made quite a big difference moving stations so am beginning to understand how it's meant to be played.

system cost index:

For activities other than manufacturing, there's a 0.02 multiplier on the cost. (which is created by taking the base materials to manufacture something, and multiplying them by the 'adjusted' price for the materials. Changing the ME doesn't affect this) (ME/TE research has an additional multiplier which increases the price) Then the whole lot gets multiplied by the system cost index.

In general, copying and invention are close to 'free'.

The adjusted cost is available from one of the crest endpoints.

Woo! CSM XI!
