Is this stuff mostly used for pvp situations as opposed to pve? Also, can you save on repair costs by using this before you dock for (at times) extensive repairs?

Nanite repair paste is in general more expensive than the cost to simply repair the modules in a station. Because of this, it is used only when docking in a station is unviable, which is mostly PvP situations in 0.0 security space.

Edit: also for PvP in lowsec during the criminal cooldown, when the station would shoot you, or you could get camped in.

Its mostly for use in deep space, which you cant dock or easy get repairs. And it only repairs modules that are heat damaged. So yes, it does save some iskies, but it is quite expensive last time I bought some. PVE overheat is mostly used in a emergency, such as overloading armor reps etc, PVP it is a case of overheat and pray, every time

It's only used for repairing damage to modules from overheating, not armour or hull (or shields).

It's cheaper to repair module damage in station, but outside of combat situations do your armour and hull repairs in space if you can.

Hi,

All of the above but I will also add that if you have overloaded your module(s) to the point where they have burnt out and no longer function, you cannot use nanite paste in space to repair and must dock to use a stations repair facility.
