Maelstrom pve fit advice needed

I currently run L4 missions in Amarr for Kaalakiota
Here is my current fit. It tanks ok, just the capacitor cuts it very close to shutting things down on me. I have really good drone skills too, should i run some sentries with her?

A long time ago, I flew a cruise raven to run L4s. Painfully slow, I know. The maelstrom is a bit better, but not by much really. If you want to fit large ACs, the mach does it better, since it actually has the speed to make use of the ACs limited optimal range. The slow speed of the mael is further crippled by the lack of either a damage projection or application oriented bonus like other short range turret oriented bs hulls.
Fit an MJD and arties, 80% the damage selection of cruise missiles, zero wait. ROF bonus on the hull is extremely noticeable vs cycle time of arties, ammo consumption is way lower than ACs. At 100 km, most rats cant even hit you, and tracking is basically a nonissue as agressed rats are burning towards you with zero radial velocity. The flip side of running a mjd is you dont have to run as many hardeners. Running an additional tracking enhancer instead of a fourth gyro will likely get you more actual applied damage.
I used a maelstrom for a while. Sold it not too long ago, in amarr.

Obviously, switch out ammo for whatever you're fighting, and swap one AIF (or both) with mission specific hardeners. May require a PG implant, or swap the Core Defense rig for a PG rig. Pulse Shield Booster as needed, the cap booster is there to keep your MWD alive and for "Oh Shelgon" moments.

Light drones for frigs. Otherwise, heavy or medium, your choice. Avoid sentries, so that you don't have to stick to them or go back for them.

Warp in, align, MJD out to 100.
Target and blap small stuff first, engage with four pairs of two-grouped turrets.
Target bigger stuff, you can group turrets into two pairs.
Group all eight guns for battleships.

Ancillary shield booster is a buffer mod, use it like one.

Could go for four Sentries, but small drones provide safety against mishaps.

Faction ammo + gyros well worth it.

The right answers so far have been ac mach and mjd mael.

If you can't afford mach but want to keep ac's, look at a tempest, and try an armor tank on it if your running in amarr space.

Machs are perfectly able to use arties and be competitive compared to an AC mach ,unlike the mael who can t really use AC due to fall off issue.

To OP dont use AC on a mael you re gonna suffer...just saying.

Don't use ACs on a missioning Mael, as said previously you will be out of range a lot of the time and burning around to targets will affect completion times by a lot.
