I'd be happier if I thought this push was a genuine attempt from decision-makers at CCP that cared about the game and about world-building in general. At the moment, I feel it's a tease.

I'll get reacquainted with the stories only to have them go the way of the wiki because an uninterested accountant couldn't see any reason for any resources used for 'wasteful worldbuilding'.

I'm glad the 'trim the fat' mindset wasn't able to block Jita 4-4 from coming out as a story, but I'm afraid a decision will be made to turn it into 'Jita 404 not found' soon enough.

Should the chronicles ever dissapear ill single handedly burn down all major trade hubs, and if its the last thing i do.

Seriously though, if anyone at CCP ever dared to touch the chronicles in a bad way im pretty sure the cry of anger of the community could be heard from the US eastcost to iceland.

They've already allowed the DUST chronicles to vanish. Not to mention EON and its artwork. :/

Managed to find the DUSt stuff here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=warning&l=https%3a%2f%2fweb.archive.org%2fweb%2f20160330093249%2fhttps%3a%2f%2fdust514.com%2fmedia%2ffiction%2f&domain=archive.org

But I agree. If this stuff vanishes, then EVE transforms from a virtual world and sci-fi epic into "just a game"... :/

Sad thing is that there's good chunks of the Eve lore and history that just haven't been updated on player-run sites yet.

It's a sad state of affairs for a game when you can't even learn about the game's lore because the company has decided it's not important anymore. If you would have told me CCP would do something like this weeks before it actually happened, I wouldn't have believed you.

Is it US central and westcoast that don't get to cry in anger or is it the rest of the world that you are excluding?

idk what you've heard about it, but CCP is currently working on a new website altogether for backstory, technical articles, player lore, and basically everything etm. The wiki was closed because it was outdated and broken, and they don't intend to maintain such an old thing. On the other hand though, I'd have personally been happier if they had left it up until they had already put up the new site :P

Not going to believe it until I see it.
