High-sec "pvp" mechaics

Hey dear CCP. How have you been lately ? What ideas will you come up with to ruin our fun in this wonderful game ? You have made alot of changes. You introduced fatigue, you nerfed the range of the capital jump range , you chanced the fighters and carriers mechanics ( that was a cool change ) then you nerfed it. You changed the bastion module to take weapon aggro on activation and you cant dock up when links mods are active. Alot of more cool changes like this to come.

But when are you going to do something about the high-sec pvp mechanics ? When are you going to do something about these wonderful people that accepts a duel from your t1 cruiser and have 2 guardians repping them ? Or those awsome mates who swaps their frigate for a t3 cruiser using a bowhead ? Where is the fun and honor in those fights ?

Best regards,

Why do you want ccp to do anything about that when you can already do something about each of those scenarios?

Just need a little situational awareness.

You are not entitled to a fair fight. You must engineeer the fight to be fair, in your favor.

I understand what you are saying. But CCP should make something, like they did for mining ships ( gave them more tank ) or unscanable cargo for t2 transport ships.

What can you do in a situation like.. you undock your stabber, you invite another stabber to a duel and 2 guardians are repping him from 50km away. ( and ready to undock 10 more if needed ) and you have only 1 toon . The only thing to do is not fight these people.

Domination Nephilim - Angel Cartel

Calm down miner. As you pointed out, people think they can get away with stuff they would not in rl... Like for example illegal mining... - Ima Wreckyou*

Join RvB, I believe this is the closest thing to "fair and honorable" hi-sec pvp you will find.

Duelling people outside of Jita's 4-4 is pretty much like playing poker with crooks. You will eventually learn all the tricks, but you might lose a lot in the process.

Yes, joining RvB is a good way to get fights. It's not about learning tricks or tactics, it's about CCP ignoring some things that usually in another context they wouldnt. Yes probaly most of you will say .. it's game mechanics. So was bumping freighters and not allow them to warp was game mechanics, until they changed it.

For the duel mechanic just introduce the inability to receive remote assistance. Sure there will still be neutral bumpers, but its a start.

I am not one-little-bit with you on this. The entire history of eve is littered with people who are unhappy at being bested by others who are: better resourced (friends or equipment); better prepared; more skilled; or more experienced. Rather than adapt their game to accommodate those difference some people whine for CCP to ‘fix’ things.

What happens with those so-called fixes is that the better players quickly adapt to the new situation, while the poor players continue getting killed and find something else to blame.

AFAIK the bumping of freighters, and other ships, has not been removed from the game. Last weekend one of my hisec alts was waylaid by a [CODE.] alt in their bumping Machariel. I managed to escape before the destroyer fleet arrived … that same old resources-preparation-skill-experience paradigm, with a generous dash of luck thrown in … but I was most certainly unable to enter warp due to the bumping.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Why should CCP bother about creating mechanics for fair fights if the game is NOT about fair fights?

The T2 Blockade Runners are immune to Cargo Scanners. They're also CovOps Cloak capable, making scan immunity kind of redundant.

BINGO!
By Jove, she's got it!

The only thing even remotely close to 'fair' hisec PvP you're likely to get, is as a member of RvB. Personally, I highly recommend them. They will teach you how to be a better pilot. Their lessons are as harsh as the rest of EVE, but it's a lot more friendly.

Its not CCP's responsibility to coddle you. The person that has a higher knowledge of game mechanics and can apply them to their advantage will win most of the time. Just because someone is better, more prepared, or smarter than you doesnt mean the game is unfair.

Adapt or die....

Excuse me how is using neutral alts higher knowledge of game mechanics? How is bowhead swapping making someone better? And are you kidding me the game is totally unfair against the true solo player. The counter to neutral logi is: have more neutral logis and ECM. Or to bowhead swapping: do it yourself. Seems very balanced and ppl you use those are clearly way smarter...

Suspect someone of having neutral logi? Bring friends or have alts. This is a social game, there are plenty of people that hate war decs that would gladly shoot our suspect logis. Adapt or die.

Swapping out of a bowhead is impossible now due to CCP, but if it were still possible.... Bump the bowhead away from your target.

The issue is that you dont want to have to put forth the same amount of effort, assets, or social ties that others will employ. Until you do so and its still mechanically unfair, stop crying.

If you are unprepared or too risk averse to step to someone that is well prepared and looking for action.... Then ignore them and go on your way?

In no way does this game favor the lone or solo player. This is an MMO, so you either need friends or alts. Theres nothing wrong with that. This isnt World of Warcraft... Hell even in wow most things require teamwork.

Dont move out of high sec for us, move out of high sec for you. Almost every issue that starts with " in high sec..." can be solved by removing yourself from high sec. This mechanic is working as intended, as CCP doesnt want you to be a high sec resident. They dont like restricting your sandbox like that. Help CCP, help you by removing yourself from high sec( also live a little)

This is a strategic fleet PVP game, not really a solo 1V1 pvp game. Everything in Eve is designed around and supports Strategic fleet pvp. Solo pvp isnt really a thing in Eve. Even people who claim to solo dont solo as they use scouts, RRers, etc.
