After today's patch, I'm getting sound only for the 1st client I start. The 2nd client always starts without sound. ESC menu shows that sound is enabled but nothing can be heard. I'm using Asus STX soundcard and never had any problems with Eve sounds before this.

Update: Starting the 1st Eve client seems to block sounds from anything started after that, not just 2nd Eve client. I tried to run VLC video player after 1st Eve client and VLC lost all sounds. If I ran VLC before the 1st Eve clients, both have normal audio. Maybe with Asus STX soundcard, the 1st Eve client initializes sound in some kind of exclusive mode?

I'm having the same issue. Using Asus Xonar sound card.

Will try on another computer at some point.

You still have not resolved the issue of randomly closing item hangar/ship hangar windows when you dock in a station/citadel.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Anomalys, that weren't completed before DT respawn the first wave after DT and the rats you didnt kill before DT remain there. This is a bug that exists for ages now.

Even after the waves spawned before DT were killed, the anomaly still continues to spawn rats even thought it doesn't show up on probe scanner anymore. Bug report filed

Hi there, thanks for the bug report.
Would you please be able to supply the anomaly site names that you experience issues with? And I will check into the sites.

I replied to your comment of the bug report

The contract search does not take standings into account or only in a very weird way. When I look for public Machariel contracts in Deklein with the Ignore Unreachable box ticked, I do not see any contracts except for 3 in a citadel of a blue alliance. No contracts in outposts are being displayed. I have to uncheck that box to see contracts in outposts.
If I do a general search for contracts with the Ignore Unreachable box ticked and without a type specified, the contract search results yield only contracts in citadels and the station I am currently in and a lot of empty or partially filled pages. If I untick the IU box, the empty or partially filled pages get instantly populated with contracts all over the place.

been seeing a few problems with carrier fighters going from 3% damage to dead while the rats in the site are all maintaining redbox aggro on the carrier itself, any fix would be appreciated

Seems that in a multiple client scenario you only get sound from one client. You can selectively disable sound in the clients themselves so you get sound from a client of your choosing but otherwise you only hear one client.

I suspect this will be rather tricky to fix but it needs fixing as soon as humanly possible. I can't be the only one who uses the sound effect to keep tabs on what's going on in game.

P.S. please bring back the survey scanner module sound. If you want to know why read above.

Cheers

Hey Audio Folks. Just keeping you posted on the mandatory "Exclusive Mode" audio issue here.

We're presently determining how best to approach the issue (preferably without rolling back the benefits of the upgrade or forcing another large download).

At present, all of the bug reports and the only reliable repro for this issue have come from machines running Windows 7 with a dedicated soundcard (or equivalent USB device). If you are not on Win7 and not using a dedicated audio device, do us a solid and send me a message.

Driver updates and the "Exclusive Mode" settings for these devices do not seem to have an effect, though I thank the players that gave that a shot first.

I will chime back in here with a progress report once we make some headway.

Lastly, and this is NOT a solution, opening up programs before starting the EVE client will keep audio enabled for those programs. So if you absolutely cannot wait for the Devs and can anticipate your secondary/ancillary activities prior to beginning a play session, I personally recommend firing up your media/browser/chat utilities in advance. Again, not our official final position on the matter, just me telling you what I'm doing to keep myself from getting cranky.

Potential secondary workaround:

Open up the Sound menu from the Control Panel and in the Playback tab, DISABLE anything that isn't the discrete audio card (Xonar, Scarlett, etc) by right clicking and choosing "Disable" from the contextual menu.

Essentially, this means "Disable Realtek Digital Output".

Research is ongoing.

Right now, the standing advice per CCP Savior is to make sure you are actually running the latest versions.

There doesn't seem to be (or at least I haven't seen) a specific condition that makes one system crash when another system running the same card (and OS etc) doesn't. But the Graphics QA team is on the task and looking into what might be at fault.

And if my information is woefully inadequate and/or already out of date, my only excuse is that I have been futzing with audio cards all day.

This solution is only applicable for other programs - Especially as wormhole resident sound on every single one of your accounts is a necessity ! to be able to hear wormhole activations.
So everyone living in j-space havign this problem is handicapped to only use one account for the duration of this problem than scout with eyes and no ears just don´t cut it and vice versa.
So i would appreciate it if this problem is persisting or the fix is more complicated than assumed to give us the option to reroll the last update - because this is major inconvenience and makes playing eve a hassle to near unplayable.

No worries,im sure its all amd's fault anyway.

Edit: Wow that reads rather pasive agressive, wasent ment to.
No realy, amd have screwed with drivers and locked me out of games for weeks on end before so it actually wouldnt suprise me if its happend again.

Cheers for poking though.
Good luck with the sound.

One of a great many reasons why i specified that it was NOT a solution, Samsara.

Finding the proper way to ensure playability across all our supported platforms and configurations is a priority and this issue in particular is getting a lot of developer attention right now.

In the meantime, I do recommend you try the manual deactivation of all other audio devices in the Control Panel's Sound menu.

I'm going to second the comment saying that clouds seem to have even more of a performance impact than before, not less. DX11, high shaders.

Why will Aura not shut up after I dock? If I spam the dock button to "dock faster" like 20 tmes, Aura will repeat the "Docking permission requested" line 18 times after I'm already docked. What's up with that?!?
