Client 'Not Responding' moments after entering the game

HI all,

As the title says, the last few days I haven't been able to actually play the game. I log in, everything loads as normal but the client freezes up about 30secs after loading the game and locks up my entire computer. Can't click anything if I try to alt + tab out of the client. I open up task manager and see that the client is not responding so I force close it.

I updated my NVidia graphics card with the latest version (7/14 release) today thinking that it would help fix the issues but I'm still getting the client not responding. For reference, I have windows 10 but this issue only started happening 2-3 days ago.

Anyone having similar issues and/or any ideas why this happening or how to fix it? Thank you in advance.

We're lot in my corp to have this issue sometimes, on entering game, or undock / jump session, since the last 2 pachtes.

Client is freezing few seconds, with "CCP.exe not responding. Wait ? Quit ?" windows popup.... then the client defreeze and run normally.
This can happens too when landing on a very populated area.

Don't think it's related to Graphic cards : we running EVE on very different config. I run on Seven 64 / AMD based PC in my case.

When a program is not responding to Windows' event cue that doesn't mean it crashed. It's simply doing stuff in its main thread. Win 10 is a lot less tolerant than XP used to be but those "helpful OS popups" are without consequence. It is safe to ignore said remarks.

I've also noticed Win 10's drive access is a LOT slower than previous releases so chances are the EvE client is waiting on 'System' to complete its call- not the other way around. Funny that system should notify you the client is allegedly not responding- I bet the client is thinking the same thing about system xD

Thanks! I just try to leave it for 10-15 min. Hope win&eve find some common ground.... Maybe eve need to download more assets. I personally have problems with option - it frees only there.

Don't get me wrong- it IS possible there is indeed a bug at play; but I noticed the same thing when I deploy applications to win 10: it is quicker to display a "not responding" dialog than its predecessors and, ironically, in doing so it hogs a system already at work even more.

That's all I could offer on the subject; please do carry on and post your findings.

Hi all,

I wanted to give a quick update on the issue. I had done a factory reset on my laptop as it was having some issues. Once I went in and manually updated my Nvidia driver, that helped a ton with the freezing/client lagging issues. I've been able to play but I still get locked up undock and docking from time to time.

I would recommend manually going to Nvidia's website and updating your graphics card driver there and see if that helps.

I have GTX 750Ti. Upgraded from 368.81 driver to 372.54 driver. Everything seems to be much much better.
(I did clean install, only the graphics driver and PhysX)
