Does CREST authentication impact market data

I have been getting into the CREST API lately and can't seem to figure out if the available CREST market data set changes when you're authenticated vs not. I just spent a few hours trying to get a callback server set up for authentication (I was getting some 403, 404, 500 server errors). After getting it working, I tried my old un-authenticated script again and it seemed to be able to pull the same data. Any clarity would be welcome.

Also, does authentication do anything with data rates?

I've been going through the forums and it seems all of this has changed several times though the ages.
