Ok here is the scenario. A Merc friend asks me to fleet and assist on his war targets in HS. I'm not in any corp and not at war.
Do I get attacked by Concord for helping? Or since I'm fleeted up its cool?

Being in a fleet does not have an effect on anything to do with aggression mechanics.

You get concorded for attacking someone you aren't allowed to.

depends what yer mate wants you to do.
scouting ,bumping and intell related stuff is grand.

if you want in on the action need to hop in the corp with yer mate for a little while.
you can always leave again if you cant hack it , merc work isnt for every one.
out of curiosity (old merc myself) who does yer mate fly with? corp/alliance i mean .

I just want to be a dickhead in my blackbird and upset the target.

Safety to yellow will let you aggress people that will give you a limited engagement timer but won't let you do anything that would get you concorded. Things like repping your friend etc.

Popped my cherry on someone's MTU tonight. No good candy inside it, and nobody showed for the party.
The hulls on those things are tough buggers, but my Stabber ate it up. I hung around the station at zero in case someone wanted to play, but they just fly past. It was fun though. Glad to see you don't take a hit to standings.

i like this one.

mtu's are never juicy,
just sometimes though they have a hilarious story to tell though.
if you ever find one thats got tec 2 and/or faction mods numbering more than 1 you just found some poor bears dignity.
fewer things are funnier in comm than a group of ye slowly coming to the realization that the mtu you poped had eaten some poor arses rattlesnake

these are for you , courtesy of my old mentor Blink

I do have something hilarious. I was with my mate, Keno, and excited that I found a MTU. He taught me how to find them on d-scan. I warped to it and began shooting it. I didn't understand why It kept reinforcing itself on a timer. Keno laughed and told me it was a Mobile Depot I was trying to kill!

Never say never.
They're pretty juicy after you bait it's owner into engaging and it scoops the loot before you do. Blink

Those Feyd articles are among the first I read as a newbie and should be required reading for any EVE player, much less a HiSec player. They kept me from falling into any of those traps.

One thing I would caution is that a few Carebears are getting wise to this and counter trapping, trappers. So realize, there are tricks to do the reverse, though I guess it's just for the counter-pleasure of burning the burners at their own game. I bet that would be fun all the way around for you psychopathic sorts... (Looking in your direction Ralph... PLolShocked )

When people ask me for advice in HiSec about not to fall into them, I tell them "Never engage". If you never pull the trigger on a Suspect, a "Wanted" or any other player unless they shoot first, you are bait proof. You just put up with their silly trap antics and do whatever you need to in order to keep playing the game your way and ignore theirs. This is why Feyd says just move on after 10 minutes or so. Some Carebears are decently smart, more than get credit for here on the forums.

Now, as a HiSec carebear a month ago, I would've happily let you shoot my MTU or MD. The MD and MTU's are tougher than people realize, they are also very replaceable. I don't tend to use them but I might out in Null Sec. In no way are either one worth the cost of your ship. Laugh and buy another.

You can use Feyd's own logic against him and others like him. He's just playing the game his way, which is fine, you can just play it yours. In the end, all assets are expendable, they aren't real, and it's just you having fun.

Go play your way and if someone is trying to mess with you, mess back... smartly.

Did you read the window that pops ups when you are invited to fleet?

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.
