This Guy

Here's the warning: DON'T TRUST THIS GUY! EVERYTHING HE SAYS IS A LIE!

He will try scam you at every opportunity, everything he says he can do for you is false, he's just a scammer. These are not 'tears'. Just a warning. I have actually learned something very valuable, but I owe him one just the same.
If he tells you he will teach you "market manipulation", run away! He's like a used car salesman, and not in a good way.

I am pretty sure he is a scout alt for some high sec suicide gankers, he used that to try to help validate his scam. Talked about helping players get out of high sec and experience the "real" EVE. Explains why he cannot make it in null. even though he is a 2009 character.
He claimed to be a "recruiter" for the high sec arm of a "major" null sec entity, and that he would move all my stuff, and jump my freighters out to their "home system" and get me in the "main null corp".

It was all lies. And he seemed like a genuinely nice guy, right up till all my s**t was gone. Then he was all like 'sorry man, but that's EVE'. I was beginning to really enjoy the thought of null sec, and the experiencing the real EVE. But now I imagine I have already experienced the "real" EVE.

I did enough research to know EVE is hard, and trust no one. Again not tears, but DON'T TRUST THIS GUY!
I know he didn't do anything illegal, and I am not crying about banning anyone. Just a warning.
Just a warning. StraightCool

Here's the question: How would you go about returning the favor?

Even as just a thought experiment, how do I get even? How do I recoup a literal sh*t ton of ISK, and in the process, get a good jab in? How do you beat them at their own game?
If you think of something really sinister, and think we can make money off him, save it for an in game mail? I don't mind sharing, if your idea works. I am willing and eager to learn this part of EVE.

In this case it could have been construed as a compliment, if you knew the guy.

How to return the favor: find out what he wants, and do a good job convincing him he can get what he wants if he trusts you with his stuff, and that he actually should.

It probably won't work because he's pretty good at exactly what he just did.

I got scammed once by used car salesman, turned out it was a stolen car.

EVE is real.

Classic!

You certainly experienced the "real" EVE right there! You should thank him!

Can you elaborate on your story? You know, to be sure others don't get scammed as well!
Every single detail! A pastebin of the chatlog would be perfect!
That way we might find his exploitable weakness!

Yeah!

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

I thought posting chat logs was naughty. And honestly I am not sure I want this community to see just how 'unsuspecting' I was. Actually this post was hard for me to create, but I think it can benefit others like myself.
Reading back over some of the chat logs I can see where I screwed up, you really cannot trust anyone in this game. Not totally. Oops

EVE is real.

If that "car" you bought was an Obelisk or a Charon, I know the real owner. Ugh

No, it was a Nissan pick-up in fact, I highly doubt you were the precedent owner, and many years ago.

But I'll take your next Obelisk if you ask very nicely. Smile

or just get over yourself and whatever hurt your ego so much ...
... which I honestly canĀ“t even remember.

Shoulda used a skill injector to train "enough research to know" lvl 5 before the thought of thinking about trading anything to anyone ever anywhere anytime.

Ever.

Woulda saved you isk even though injectors cost isk that can be easily replaced by working for one more hour of decent real life isk at a meat factory packing fudge.

Send me an eve-mail, Ill let you in on quite a few more of the dirty secrets some of the nasty rapscallions have been known to desliver. You can keep your items, Ill be charging liquid isk. (99.7% upfront the other .3% due upon whatever the circumference of a moose is) Its easier to explain to my "booky".

What do you do with your character after you have sullied your reputation so bad? Was all that ISK really worth having a 2009 character that everyone now knows cannot be trusted? This isn't like other games where you can change character names almost at will, now you will need new representation. Is this really a smart way to play in a single shard game?

And how is it you were not burned before now? Surely you have been called out before, but I cannot find any evidence on these forums that anyone has accused you of this. Is it truly a case of people being so embarrassed about being scammed that they were afraid to step forward? Or was I just the most gullible player you have ever met?

I am so interested in this aspect of EVE now. It took me a long time to get into EVE, I was just busy with other things and other games. When I finally did get into EVE, I was amazed at the size and scope of the game. From mining to scanning to R&D to combat, there was so much to learn.
Then I met you, and now all I want to do is learn how to make ISK in EVE without shooting pirats or mining all day. I was so interested in the low and null life before, but all I can think about now is Ponzi scams and long cons.

What have you done to me?

I would have joined years ago if CCP had advertised the 'Bernie Madoff' playstyle up front. And where are the tutorials for this?

Now this is some damn quality tears.

Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Cool

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

You want to know what immorality in EVE Online looks like? Look no further than Ripard "Jester" Teg.

Chribba is the Chuck Norris of EVE.

Not many people are as willing as you are to admitt they were fooled. Even fewer would come to these forums and advertise it.

And no, not the most gullible. I knew from the first contact that it would not be easy to CONvince you, maybe that's what makes it so fun. Maybe it's just me.

So everything you and I discussed, you can do that yourself.
This is EVE, and you must remove all your RL sympathies, or give the advantage to the other guy. And don't think for one second he won't take that advantage.
