Extracting new models/skins HELP!~

All the ships that have been modified come in two flavors ; the old version and the new one (regarding textures). All vertices have been merged after export, so the geometry should hold together Big smile

I would have loved to render all those ships before posting, but I had no time unfortunately. And there were T2 ships on your list that I could not export - well, I can provide you with the T1 version if you wish.

I'll update soon with renders. Keep in mind that renders out of the EvE engine can look quite different from in game because I do not use the EvE environment for reflections (most of the time I do not use reflections at all because I prefer the flat diffuse look - but I'll have to try). The Gallente shuttle for example does not look like in the game at all.

Time frame 1 min 52 seconds on your vidéo, lower left corner (just under the number 10 on your board) the red dot : is that a blood spatter we see ? Big smile

I used the texture map as a bump map .

My previous attempts at extracting ships where kinda bad. I made a movie a while ago about a corp, everything in lightwave.

About the backgrounds, someone else posted somewhere ( i think on the triexporter now megathread ) some wormhole backgrounds. When i get home in a couple of hours, i will reupload them here. Big smile

The noctis is a nightmare. I simply love this ship but after comparing her with all other eve ships it looks like it was not designed the same or even by the same fokes. It simply is far beyond in complexities than any other model in the eve folder. I hate to say it but its gonna take me 20 times the time to block n flatten her out...Way complex with many small parts...but she's beautifully. Sax to say with all the small parts ill have to make it like 24 inches

Maybe you could help me with an issue I've been having that hasn't been solved, though some of the great TriExporter users have tried.

I am unable to extract the Captain's Quarters successfully, due to some bad modelling on the floors and ceilings mostly.

Would be most appreciative of your assistance. Minmatar please.

Thanks for the link and very nice video (even if my Caldari roots shacked at time-frame 37", when we see an Aba one-shot a Raven).
And nice move to use the diffuse map as a bump map. Having never tried that, I tested it and found it can do the job. Thanks for the tip. Have you ever tried to input the diffuse map as specular map ? If you tweak the roughness transmission, it can also give good results sometimes Blink

I included the diffuse and lights maps, and also added a third one combining diffuse and lights. But don't rely too much on them as I'm not THE photoshop guy. Big smile

I have exported parts (walkway, walls, roof, floors and furnitures) and had no problem opening them in Modo or 3DS. But as I don't spend much time in station (I disabled the CQ to be honest), I don't really know how they fit together. I was able to make a nice walkway but that's all I have tried for now. The parts seems ok to me so far...

Can you be more specific on the problem you meet, or maybe point me to the thread were that issue was discussed ?
I'll keep in touch as soon as I know what to look for.

I used the texture as spec map, but it looks like a plastic model. Didn't like it much. Big smile

The above radiosity render, uses the texture map as bump too, plus a procedural as a micro bump.

It's actually the room itself. I have all the parts extracted and textured adequately, but the floors, stairs, ceiling, they no want to work. Can't find the other thread at the moment, but it had something to do with bad vertex points I believe.

I haven't tried the walkway yet. I'm actually talking the living quarters themselves.

And yes, I have it disabled as well. This is for a video podcast I'm working on, but need the room or it's a no go.

As per Triexporter not extracting certain models, can you give me an example ? I'd like to see if I meet the same problem as you or not.

If not, I'll be happy to upload my Tri + Granny.dll version for you.

They are rendered with Keyshot 3 Pro, because in the morning, before my third coffee I'm a lazy bastard Big smile


You wouldnt happen to have a SAT, STL, STP, IGS or other solid model format of that Tengu model?
