So new to wormholes and I have a question

Im new to wormholes and want to get into exploration most of my exploration skills are at 4, my question is do ALL of the sleeper sites and NPC's in them. I've heard C1 and C2's do not. id they dont, is it worth running or stick to null sec and run sites there. I ask because I am currently in a covert ops but just no weapons.

if it's a sleeper site, it will have npcs.

If it's a null sec exploration data/relic (which only spawns in whs up to c3) then it won't have rats in it.

Not all of them do.
If the data site starts with Unsecured or the relic site starts with forgotten it will have NPC, the rest don't.

Well I know some of them just have the NPC turrets which can be disabled is that all or do most have ships

As mentioned in the first response, ALL sleeper sites have rats at them.
The ones that don't are the nullsec sites which you can run into in C1-3 space

Some only have turrets, like certain Gas sites. Most will have ships.

I hate to be pedantic (lies); but they can also spawn in higher class holes. The shattered WHs can spawn sites from lower classes than themselves. I've personally run pirate relics in a C4 this week because of this specific exception.

There is one specific C4 data/relic that doesn't spawn NPC's until you hack a can. So it doesn't have them at first, but they do spawn.

You can tell they are the null sec sites in C1-3 easily because they will have a pirate faction name in them. Guristas, Angel, etc

just be careful of the ones that say "covert research facility"

those are known as ghost sites and CAN blow you up

If you are "just" into hacking/exploring without fighting NPC, then stick to relic/data sites containing a pirate faction (Angel, Gurista, Serpentis etc. etc.) name. These are always NPC free, beside the already mentioned "ghost sites". There are just a few, they spawn rarely and are recognizeable by their name ("covert..." or "supreme...", google for "eve ghost sites"). They only spawn in C1-C3 (anyone might correct me if I am wrong), C4 and up are not worth to be scanned.

All d/r sites having NO pirate faction name contain always NPC and might blow up your exploration frig even before you think about bailing out ;-)
