For the love of all things holy, don't put the Undock button next to the Ships button. XEvil

That's a set up begging for accidents to happen.

Bad idea

EDIT: Even if these are meant to be movable - this is a really bad default.

You can always abort an undock. And maybe don't have your mouse set to 2000 dpi so you don't overshoot all your buttons.

or wait, redock and loose 21s of your life.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

That's great and all, but it's not a reason to purposely redesign the UI to make accidents more likely to happen. Especially considering it's already implemented in a more optimal / safer way.

It's also possible you're flying a ship that's fast enough to clear the dock perimeter before the session change timer resets. You'd have to turn around and fly back to the station. As soon as you move you lose invulnerability so it could be a rather costly miss click.

There's no reason to purposely design a UI to make that scenario more likely.

Solution: merge items and ships with your station window. Who ever it was at CCP that decided it would be an awsome idea to make more window clutter by having the items and ship windows by themselves by default needs to be locked in a closet and not allowed near my EVE X

Merge option is win. So long as it's still there, I'm happy.

you can merge the ship and items - but the icons stay in themenu bar. I just use hotkeys for undock

I agree that undock button should be WELL clear of any other button (and perhaps have a "safety cover" or an optional "are you sure?" dialog). There are situations where that button equals death as the outside of the station is camped.

The calender button has been right under the undock button for what, over a year now? Never saw too many complaints about that. Either that or no uses that button. Twisted

Just move undock button so its always on the bottom end of sidebar?

Edit. Talking to CCP, not to OP.

I support the op in this matter. There should at least be a few pixel space between the undock button and the opening ship hangar button. And yes, it really matters.

In the current Neocom there's some guard space between the Undock button and the Calendar button.

made the same observation and asked myself why. seems to be intentional? (again, why?)
i have to agree with the op. at least let the item/ship buttons be removable, when the item- and ship hangar is integrated into the station panel.
