Hi there guys im planning on ganking a bit in wormholes with a T3 cruiser along with my astero scout and was wondering which T3 would be best for my situtation. (It does not need to be fit AT ALL for PVE ONLY PVP...).

As of right now I have a Proteus fit up for the job but wondering if it was even the best option for the job. Fit is below.

Proteus Fit

High
-Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
-Expanded Probe Launcher II ( 8x Sister's combat scanner probe's. )
-Heavy Neutron Blaster II
-Heavy Neutron Blaster II
-Heavy Neutron Blaster II
-Heavy Neutron Blaster II

Medium
-Republic Fleet Warp Scrambler
-Federation Navy Stasis Webifier
-10 MN Afterburner II

Low
-Shadow Serpentis Armor Explosive Hardener
-Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
-Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
-1600mm Steel Plates II
-Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
-Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
-Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

Rigs
-Medium Trimark Armor Pump II
-Medium Trimark Armor Pump II
-Medium Trimark Armor Pump II

Notes:

-Cold - 421 DPS (With Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge M)
-Hot - 484 DPS

-138k EHP (Can switch out a MFS II For a 800mm Steel plate reducing DPS to 374 (cold) but increasing tank to 174k EHP)

If you do think this fit and T3 is fine for what i'm doing also let me know! Much appreciated

Have you looked at a Stratios? Good active or buffer tank with utility high slots for days. Get about 450deeps with heavys and gecko's have decent tracking for heavys.

I think your fit is fine, just giving you some options. Just remember sooner or later you will get baited and someone will take your corpse to share with their friends. No need to lose that sp if you dont need too.Big smile

Hey just looked at the stratios in Pyfa with a neut and passive tank with about 458 dps and 76k EHP, and this might actually be better, the tank is sacrificed for neuting power and DPS but thats fine considering i will have the suprise factor and be able to choose my targets also wont be losing any SP, so thanks i might actually go for the stratios instead. 678m Fit btw compared to 721m Proteus Big smile

Also i can get more DPS out of 4 ogres then 2 geckos so no need to waste 80m extra :)

The Geckos apply their DPS better though in practice. I think you'll find you like them better.

Stratios is best, geckos are MUCH better than ogres.
Don't have 'a' neut, have 3.
If going Proteus, fit the augmented sub for 25m drone bandwidth.

PS: how did you manage to get less than 500dps out of a Proteus? That takes some skill!

Your fit gets destroyed by anything with a medium neut on it. For hunting, proteus is the best t3 imo but a stratios is going to be more cost effective and better as Mr. Miton says.

I would go dual prop, faction scram, web and small cap booster. You will have to manage your cap a bit more, but dual prop is great for negating missile damage or disengaging from combat when things don't go well. If you gonna go only AB then warp disruptor doesn't make make much sense.

This is the fit I use, yet to let me down, unless you count being an idiot and letting myself get talked into jumping into lowsec by Foedus...

Quote:
[Stratios, Nemo]
1600mm Rolled Tungsten Compact Plates
Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Damage Control II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

50MN Cold-Gas Enduring Microwarpdrive
10MN Afterburner II
Faint Epsilon Scoped Warp Scrambler
Fleeting Compact Stasis Webifier

Gecko x2

If you don't want the dual prop and want a bit more tank you could do this fit, would possibly be correct to do so:

Quote:
[Stratios, Nemo]
Imperial Navy 1600mm Steel Plates
Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Damage Control II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

50MN Cold-Gas Enduring Microwarpdrive
Faint Epsilon Scoped Warp Scrambler
Fleeting Compact Stasis Webifier
Dark Blood Small Capacitor Booster, Navy Cap Booster 400
Dark Blood Small Capacitor Booster, Navy Cap Booster 400

Medium Energy Neutralizer II
Medium Energy Neutralizer II
Medium Energy Neutralizer II
Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Sisters Core Scanner Probe
'Smokescreen' Covert Ops Cloaking Device II

Medium Trimark Armor Pump II
Medium Trimark Armor Pump II
Medium Ancillary Current Router II

Gecko x2
Ogre II x4
Curator II x4
Hammerhead II x5
Warrior II x5
Hornet EC-300 x5

PS: It fits a T2 cloak fine, i'm just too lazy to swap it out on my fit.

i treat stratios as tech 5 cruiser because it has very good statistics and yes better 4 ogres than 2 gecko can confirm that

Gecko's all the way. Way not isk efficient in market but if you dont lose them, its the winner overall. DPS, speed, tracking, HP.

Get a Strat if you don't really know how to PvP, no need to lose SP

That said, Proky Cloakyus is probably the best though I have refit my C3gu to a rapid light cloaky PvP ship. Railgu/Blengu is not bad but not good. I have thought about making a superweb tackle loki, but to be fair medium projectiles blow. As for the Legion I think it would be ok but I haven't looked at any fits
