Nvidia GTX 880M - random system freeze when running three clients

I have sent a report to CCP with dxdiag and CCP Log Server files. But maybe someone else here is stucked with the issue.

I am playing rarely EVE since a few months. Since a few weeks ago I will experience random freezes with my Alienware 17 and GTX 880M (8GB). I am running the latest Win 10 and the latest driver. I tried older drivers. Same issue.

When I run two clients with high settings and medium AA everything is stable. When I start a third client my system will randomly freeze for 5-10 seconds > black screen for a second > system / driver back.

I haven't changed my settings. I have cleared the cache files. I have used a benchmark tool for a stress test. I have started 10 graphics applications to my two EVE clients filling up the VRAM up to 4 GB. I am running The Witcher 3 now with my two clients. No freezes. Just when I start a third EVE account.

The WIndows log:
display driver "nvlddmkm" stopped responding and has recovered

The CCP log:

I am sure it is
- an EVE related bug
- an issue between EVE, WIn 10 and the Nvidia driver
- not a hardware issue
- not a heating issue

So what can cause the problem? Any ideas are welcome because I am running out of ideas :-)

Presidente Gallente Best Kept Dunked Likes received: 200	#3 - 2016-07-31 21:11:55 UTC It seems to be an EVE issue with Nvidia under Win 10. No other app or game I have installed here (eg. Witcher 3, DOOM) will cause a freeze.

I think I'm having a similar issue?

GTX 780

I get random, but consistent frame rate drops down from a solid 60 to 10-15FPS, every minute or so. When the FPs drops, the client more or less locks, I can't click anything ingame - even skill training/market stuff.

I tried a full re-install of the game, no luck.

Oddly enough, EVE recognizes 2 GTX 780's in the graphics setting despite only have 1 GPU installed...not sure if that's part of the issue?
