They've been coming down every day. Currently at 1.6 bil in Jita. Where do you think the market will be when the frenzy dies down?

CCP wanted them to be at around 700 milions. Since citadels (not only medium) arein great demand now and more new structures are comming this year, I think the price will settle down somewhere in between 856 and 858 milions at the start of the next year. Yep, pretty sure about that. Maximum 858,5 milions ISK per one piece. Sabriz Adoudel will try to push it to 858,59 milions, but we will not let him/she/it do so, will we?

Between 400 and 900 million. There are to many unknowns to warrant a more precise estimate imo.

Focusing on the Astrahaus alone overlooks the other citadels, and their common materials that are the real bottleneck.

They will fall below today's build price within 6 weeks, then rebound to a little above the new build price.

Every post before mine, and after mine that try to predict the price is wrong.

Market follows dynamic laws, which means you need decent and a complete model, otherwise your prediction is the same from a Shaman predicting the weather. He can predict it or not. Its a shot in the dark. Pure guess

Well, according to Sabriz's school of economic theory, the price shall settle at around 850 million instead of 858,5. Then, the price shall fluctuate between 850 and 858 as the Utility function increase for the Citadels. You see, the producers want to maximize Pi (profit), and he consumers want to maximum Utility. Therefore the Utility Function will increase by a factor of 0.3511787 (35.11787%) as the price go down by a factor of 0.1855454 (18.55454%).

Because Producers want to maximum Pi, and Consumers want to maximum Utility. However, it's possible that Citadels are a Giffen Good, so the Utility and Pi will both increase at the same time. If that happens, according to Sabriz's research, both the Utility and Pi (profit) for the Giffen Good shall increase by a factory of 0.285567 (28.5567%).

Wait - what? My school?

I'm just looking at the short-term overproduction that is happening (and always does when a new good enters the market).

It will drop a fair bit once the refining is fairly useless on it

I find it interesting you chose "Pi" to represent profit in this particular case. I think you may be on to something.

I think there must be a hidden joke in there, but I just don't know where.

At the risk of being obtuse, citadels are largely comprised of materials from planetary interaction, or PI (Pi if you are a poor typist).
