Mostly I'm used to just shortened versions of the name or acronyms, some that come to mind:

Exequeror - Exeq
Confessor - 'fessor
Oneiros - Oni
Vagabond - Vaga
Dominix - Domi
Scythe Fleet Issue - Fleet Scythe (or SFI if typing, but it doesn't feel right to say aloud)
Scorpion Navy Issue - Navy Scorp
Cerberus - Cerb
Vexor Navy Issue - VNI

Either that or the more common names on comms*:

Anything fast - 'they're in some kitey bullshit'
T3Ds - Cancer
Thorax - take your pick of penis/**** joke
Falcon/Griffin/Rook - 'fuckn ECM'
