Best bombers and recons for solo/small gang work?

I have been seeking to acquire a stealth alt for some nullsec roaming lately, but I am not sure which ships to prioritize. Off hand I know the pilgrim is renown as a solo recon and the hound is one of the more popular bombers, but outside of those two I really haven't got a lot of experience in this department. Most of my knowledge about covert pvp is the various failed hot-drop attempts that have been made on my JF over the years.

Any first-hand experience or fits would be appreciated. Thanks.

purifier/hound for pure dps support. manticore for added ewar benefits.

Bombers:
Purifier or Hound (take your pick) for pure DPS (Hound has a slight edge here, but the Purifier is no slouch either). Manticore as an ersatz EWar platform.

Recons:
Pilgrim if you enjoy being the ruin of enemy turret boats (just beware of missiles!). Falcon if you enjoy ECM tears. Rapier is more of a small-gang boat.

Other options:
(Or you could roam in a cloaky T3: Loki makes a good super-Rapier trading web range for tank, Proteus is a cloaky DPS beast, and the cloaky HAM Tengu is pretty dastardly to deal with too.)
