I went to a school where on the way to it was a long, dark alley. Any time a kid walked up that alley, thug kids would jump out, beat the kid up and take his lunch money ... and shoes. Then, the kid would arrive at school, so as not to be late, barefoot. The principal would hit him with a dress code violation.

We always thought, being the thugs, that all the other routes to the school should be blocked off so we could rob all the kiddies on the way to school of their lunch money. Stupid carebear kids. What do they think, there's a free lunch
in this life?

You thug bullies didn't pick on the Jocks for your free lunch but the kids with the pocket protectors.

Same here in EVE. The thug gankmeisters mafia wannabees don't pick on ships that can fight back. I'm not saying you should, but making points about ships not fighting back that literally can't fight back effectively is seriously lacking in intellectual prowess or honesty. At that point, it tells me nothing is wrong with the pocket protector crowd, its the bully culture that has a screw loose.

For example, I just ran my Talos through about 8-9 gank Catalysts with Suspect tags hanging out at a gate (I'm guessing they were CODE thugs by their pilot names, CODE seems to have reduced using CODE in their ships or descriptions) and they didn't stop my Talos, even though they could've with that many of them. However, I'd have taken about half or more with me and the sentry guns would've finished the rest before any Concord ships arrived. I was ready to fight if they wanted to throw down, but that's the point. They don't want to fight someone that can fight back. It blows their Killboards and it costs them ISK as well as making them have to learn how to actually fight. It wouldn't be hard, I'm not a PvP'er at all in that vein.

So, the only real way to increase ship to ship PVP is to kick out all the players that don't really like that kind of confrontation. Not everyone likes to fight ship to ship against other players for a dozen different reasons. I suggest everyone recognize and let all play styles exist and be happy. Continually advocating for your given play style, whatever it is, can have detrimental effects to the game.

Well...how do you define players then?

would say with less amount of players to bring players closer together ,the game was made for pvp but when you first play the game you do pve so game gives off mixed signals , it should be you from start go to a area like with other rookies and blow the crap out of each other then learn that way you be more pvp focused , and have training there as well like how to fit ships etc and give ships 1of each race to learn them .
then you have more pvp and pve would be a side show means to a end

Leave it to a dirty forum alt to bring a knife to a gunfight, then brag about it later. Cool

If we get chased by zombies, I'm tripping you.

We could just make all of eve null except a few newbro only constellations. And then watch as all the bears are swept away from the game by their own tears.

null sec best sec!

I think on april fools they should mess with everyone and have all the true secs of all systems RNG at DT for one day and not tell anyone and see how long it takes people to notice. Concorded in Stain, Jita with a -0.5 trusec, Amarr lowsec, Tama a 1.0 system.

Ugh...

EvE needs both PVE, PVP, and social play to prosper.

The game is World of SpaceTanks for some.
The game is Minecraft in Space for others.
The game is Space Sims for yet others.
The game is Trade Wars Mk2 for a different set.
The game is a sociologist's wet-dream...or nightmare... or both.
This game has more ways to play it than I can think of...

Most players have a preferred playstyle.
Most players will have at least dabbled in more than one playstyle.
No playstyle is wrong.

Enjoy EvE the way it was meant to be played -- However You Want To!

However, if you try to shut out other playstyles over your own preferred playstyle, then should you succeed, please don't whine when you reap the unintended consequences that your changes sowed.

TBH I love bringing my knife into gunfights. One of my absolute favourite activities in EVE was to see how insanely far I could down-ship and still pull off a victory. I used rookie ships and mining barges before they got buffed, back when they sucked and everyone *knew* they sucked.

A large part of why I've been increasingly frustrated with EVE (aside from the obvious p2w issues) is that they keep buffing the **** out of all my bait ships....and now people are more afraid of them than they are of full-fledged combat vessels...

I mean **** - these days I can (and have) literally kill a PvP fit faction fit faction battleship with myself and a couple of friends in Skiffs....and *nobody is even surprised*....It is just sickening. The knives of yester-EVE are the machine-guns of today.

The dead swans lay in the stagnant pool. They lay. They rotted. They turned Around occasionally. Bits of flesh dropped off them from Time to time. And sank into the pool's mire. They also smelt a great deal.
