Maybe, but until they do so I will happily dunk every miner I am able to dunk. So far every nerf only made them more confident and they grew even fatter.

imho, the answer is no.

Yes, and the amount of such threads should say something to you.

The amount has nothing to do with it. There have been multiple "EVE is Dying" threads on the front page since I started playing in 2008. I can't vouch for before then, but I'm willing to bet it was that way all the way back to the start.

Lest we forget, in the front of The Second Decade Edition book, there's a quote from the Beta that reads: "This game will be dead in six months. Mark my words."

It's just a game m8.

All the time I've given it, I've enjoyed.

I've enjoyed the aesthetics, the players, the bugs and the downtimes. If it all goes down the shitter tomorrow I'll have no regrets.

Nothing lasts forever.

If you have a requirement that a game must have a significant "update" that is a sea change from the previous build (a requirement wholly invented by the so-called playerbase, btw) and someone is foolish enough to accept that as law and then tries to fulfill this pie-in-the-sky (totally off the scale unrealistic) demand, then of course the game you end up with, after a few such "updates" will not resemble what you began with. After all, you CHANGED IT. GEEZ.

The more I read these "you ruined the game" or "what would make this game perfect" posts, the more I'm convinced what is needed is a psychiatric screening...(wouldn't hurt to have that for a few....okay, no politics today.) From what I gather, the entire game is supposed to be reworked and upgraded in some way. No thought whatever is given to the obvious expense of maintaining an operation that can actually do something like this.

The main factor, if you folks have been playing all THAT long, that gets left out is - how high have all prices risen everywhere in this intervening time? How can CCP be on this imaginary island where production costs haven't practically doubled since the first build of the game? How high has your sub for EVE risen? To live in your world, you'd be paying at least $45 a month (PER ACCOUNT and NO PLEXING) to even claim to have the standing to make such demands. But, guess what. You AREN'T paying that. (If you are actually paying with money LIKE ME) you're still paying the same amount as when you began.

You take all the "ideas" you "gaming experts" spew out over the course of a year, and quantify them in terms of development costs, each "update" you imagine is the equivalent of building an entirely new game, the cost of which has risen right along with the cost of your ham sandwiches and lattes. By now, to meet this expectation, CCP would have spent $75 million USD EASILY. I see NO nod, tip of the hat, gesture toward THIS. All I see is demand piled upon demand piled upon demand.

We get fifteen paragraphs of "why I'm the expert here" then two paragraphs of "I don't care what it costs (obviously since I didn't MENTION IT), just give me this....I deserve it." It's not surprising, the great project that was supposed to save us from all the MMOs developers imposed agony "Star Citizen" is bogged down so much in crowd funding, they haven't gotten around to developing a game. (There are also rumors law enforcement is investigating the shakers and movers of that project for misuse-age of funds. Your cavalry i$n't coming!)

Hell yeah, EVE has changed. You begged for it. You clamored. You expected. You created this artificial "need" for "games" to update every three months just to keep you happy paying the same amount as though all this effort is OWED to you. Now you have what you asked for, you don't like it. Unbelievable. You sound like the Entitlement Generation. Wait....

I have congratulated several people on their volunteering the money to launch some of these fabulous "updates" they gin up in their infallible imaginations while they shower, then eat their ramen dinners. How generous to volunteer to pay! Guess what! Right. NO money was forthcoming...just another "great idea".

If it wasn't for you people insisting a game has to have a major update every three months, you'd still have your EVE.

Suck it. Cool

Oooo, posting in an EVE is dying thread, July version.

"We don't like Change! Keep it the same!" = EVE is dying

"The game has to change to be fresh and modern!" = EVE is dying

"CCP has nerfed the play styles into irrelevance!" = EVE is dying

"This isn't WoW! Keep it different!" = EVE is dying

Yeah, pick your reason, you can make your case about EVE dying. "Water is Wet!" = EVE is dying... see what I mean?

Look folks, EVE will die when the subscriber base no longer generates enough profit to pay for the game. It's a simple analysis that even an 8 year old with peanut counting skills can do (I wouldn't trust the math from the common core kids). You guys trying to read the tea leaves should spend all that energy and time thinking up ideas to keep the game fresh for YOU. You are the primary driver of the game. Don't wait for Momma bird CCP to come back to the nest and feed you.

Just so I can totally ruin any future metrics..
EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying • EVE is dying

There... now we have another 'summer of rage' going. Everyone happy?

Is the end coming? Yes

When will it come? Nobody know.

It's dying just like every human being on the planet is. The final point will be death for every one of us and this game will also die at some point.

Focusing on just this part. No. They cannot hide losses from investors this way. Investors can still say, "We'd like to see the books." And if CCP said, "No." That would be Bad™.

Eve is in a transitional period atm, and has been sence pretty much the WIS dibocal. (which was more complex then just incarinia btw.)

After that, ccp took a, safe approach and spent about 2 years working over older systems we wanted fixed. They did not add new content, which in tern had people complaining that they wanted new content (serisouly, you cna;t please everyone) Around 2013, ccp started shifting towards the future. Dust was launched, and was a success on the money side (it made profit) but form a technical where it wanted to go side, it was a failure. 2014 rolls around, and CCP decided to dump word of darkness and shift focus to fully the eve ip. They wrote off 98m that year (they did not actually lose 98m, as it was mostly a write off of stuff they spent priviously for tax poruposes) and we entered the transitional phase form old eve towards new eve. Stuff began to change.

Now, the number delining are multiple factors, from 1) changes people dislike. 2) people realizing they can now do more with less accounts. 3) anti broadcasting measures. But we are still in the mist of the 2014 vision. Valk is in early access and progressing nicely, nova should be progressing (green light the damn thing)

As for eve dying, the fact that with the release of skill injectors gave ccp the highest monthly revenue ever... means i doubt they are closing anytime soon. We have already seen the numbers bounce a bit form last year, and stableize, though wiuth summer comming i expect a dip. We should know more once the other structure changes and some other features are shown.

EVE dying? no. Chaning? yes. Will ti suruve the change and come out stronger? who the hell knows. But this thread is stupid. Because no matter which way you actually look at it, ccp as a comapny are healthy, and as long as they are healthy, eve is here to stay.

No matter what, i'll be here till they shut down all the servers, or i die. whichever comes first.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!
