[Moira] Technical analysis of Jovian Observatory in Alsavoinon

I've conducted some observations and analysis of the Jovian Observatory in the Alsavoinon system. The extensive damage done by the Drifters and Sleepers here provides the ability to take a peek into the internal workings of these structures. Hopefully this information will prove useful to my fellow researchers.

I applaud General Soter's efforts here, in disseminating information about the Drifter Menace, rather than hoarding it, to maximise personal glory.
Far too often, when a civilisation-threatening menace such as the Drifters appears on the horizon, capsuleers begin data-hoarding, in an effort to corner the market on various devices arising from the intrusion of the Menace. A pattern first observed on a large scale with the Sansha's Nation incursions.

So, I, for one, say, well done, General Soter, you are an inspiration to us all.

You're a bit late on this particular party, Mister Soter. People have been staring at those things for months and made no progress in our understanding of these structures. Your observation are very through though.

Hmm... Wonder if a DED Admiral or some topgun management of some high profile organization is going to show up to lay the smack on you for sharing this. Those backhand verbal beatdowns are always a treat to watch!

As stated, my only goal here was to do some basic analysis and review of the facts after more than a year that these structures appeared in the space of New Eden. I hadn't noticed any comparable analysis published recently regarding the technological features of the Observatories, so I felt it was time to dig deeper into that topic. When time permitted during the unremitting wars of Low Security Space, after all.

Dig deeper? You only made a simple (but thorough) empyrical observation and reached the same conclusion everyone reached last year. Which is why there hasn't been any breakthrough in this matter since. If anything we're only scratching the surface of a rock and all we have is toothpicks to break the darn thing.

But I supose saying that "I was bored with smacking the squids, so I took pictures of these jove things in my local area" doesn't sound as exciting as passing it as serious scientifical research. A good scientist (like me) would have come up with a theory of the observatories function (which we know already too) and tested it out with a proper method protocol, and then, published the results.

Imagine if all of the Blood Raider scientiists in New Eden started only to publish papers on how pretty and round red blood cells look under a microscope? We wouldn't get any science done like that...

Theologically, though, a paper on the aesthetics of red blood cells might be interesting.

But there are already so many publications about how pretty and round red blood cells look under a microscope. They are verified to be valid too. Why waste time on this? Surely their time is better spent on publishing about the manufacturing of highly nutritious blood tofu or something.

Point taken.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

I never understood that. To me, using blood in food, or drinking it casually would be like the Amarr pouring a glass of Sacred Water over some ice because they were thirsty.
We drink blood as a matter of course, but it's a religiously significant ritual.

Now then, while my metaphor was cutesy and profane in all the right ways, let's not lose sight of the point I was trying to make.

But yes, red blood cells look very pretty and round under a microscope...
