Questions about Serpentis event loot

Hey folks,

A couple of questions, please, about specifically the Serpentis modifiied capital microprocessor...which seems to be widely available after clearing Serpentis ship yards. Thankx for any helpful replies to the following:

1. How much better are they than the normal processors used for capital ships?

2. Are they available any other way other than than through this event?

3. If you hold on to them, will they become more valuable as time passes as the ones won during the current Serpentis event get used up/destroyed etc.?

4. How many of these processors do you need when making a capital ship?

5. Do they have any other uses or are they limited to only certain capital ships?

I notice the average price is slowly going down the more of them that hit the market but I guess they are useful for those making capitals in low and null sec......correct me if wrong.

Apart fromt he basic questions above I'd be happy to get the general slant/insight on these things from more experienced players as well.

Cheers.

1a. (see 5a)

2a. Unsure. I want to say no, they can only be gained through the event.

3a. Maybe. Speculation is always risky. The DEVs might add a way to farm them after the event has ended, making them less valuable than they are now.

4a. (see 5a)

5a. The Serpentis Capital Microprocessor is used to build the Serpentis Capital Ships (and equipment?). You cannot use them for regular capital ships.

For your other comment;
Capital ships (Dreadnoughts, Carriers, and Force Auxiliaries) can only be built in 0.4 or lower space (see: low-sec, null-sec, and wormhole space).
Supercapital ships can only be build in Null-sec space that your alliance owns (see: you need SOV).

Nobody can tell how the price evolves, but my bet is on a lower price in future (cashed out everything at the 900k mark). Also because there are voices telling the new Serpentis caps are crap ...

I'm my own NPC alt.

I seem to remember CCP saying that they'll be available after the event in the Serpentis LP store. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd like to think that CCP have not made the Serpentis carriers sub-par.....thought the Serpentis stuff was supposed to be OK to good in general. Time will tell, I guess, when those who make them enter combat and they and their opponents pass judgement.

As an aside to the current event, I got a mission pop up that said "Engage and destroy a Drifter battleship in a cruiser".....and you need to kill 5 Drifter battleships to get 500 points. Is that some sort of joke? Lol

Are there people out there casually racking up Drifter battleships kills in cruisers?

The trick is speed and range. Stay as far away from them as possible, grind them down over time, and don't use a "valuable" ship.

Drifters have a nasty tendency to nuke any heavily tanked ship in one shot (they can nuke carriers in one shot if they feel threatened enough).

Hmmm....OK, speed and range then. So, I guess mwd and rails/missiles it is then. I give it a go even if seems like a suicide mission. Lol

Cheers for the input.
