You sure it wasnt CONCORD?

CONCORD or potentially an Incursion rat. Can't really explain the whole "turned blue" bit, though. Maybe confused the rat with a wreck and shot the wreck? I don't know if abandoned wrecks will bring CONCORD down on you, though.

You clearly have absolutely no idea what's going on, and with a kb efficiency of 0.1% I feel confident in saying that nobody has ever been as bad at this game as you apparently are. Congratulations on your astounding accomplishment.

Says the noob with a killboard full of ganks, structures and zero deaths. The great and well known PvPrs in EvE all have lost fights many many times its a requirement of learning to PvP and becoming great. Dont throw black kettles in glass houses or something.

Learn to PvP before criticizing others...

Right, because the hallmark of a great PvP'er is 110 deaths and 2 kills, one of which is a customs office. Well I guess that's pretty good if you're a Pandemic ******. Also, please point out any ganks on my killboard. Is that how you make yourself feel better after losing multiple fleet engagements, you convince yourself that you were just ganked instead?

The totals don't matter. The fact that he has a hundred losses and almost every one indicates a lack of understanding is what matters. Anyone with a shred of experience can see that clear as day from the first few examples.

Not to mention OP literally just asked how rat aggro works. He's been playing for years and hasn't figured out how to pvp OR pve.

Which is basically what happens when you join a tax evasion corp and refuse to engage with the community. OP reaps his own rewards.

Not the read I was talking about. Yes, the player may totally suck about it and I am not one to comment on their given skill or even what they are asking about. The player may not CARE about that stuff, so if we completely disregard the OP's original observations, you'd have a point. I am less willing to just toss out their observations.

Is it possible to have something appear to be one then then really be another... by mechanics, certainly, but that's not what it's sounding like has happened here from the players perspective. If their locked targets were something then 'poof' became something else, that doesn't sound like mechanics, that sounds like a glitch.

The Killboard shows the player doesn't care about PvP, and yes, maybe they fall for the sucker punch every time, so yes, they may not know the details about it (They are using an MTU on a regular basis and that is always asking for trouble). It's not a reason to degrade and demean them while assuming they have somehow misread their display. It's entirely possible that their description is accurate as to what happened and everyone that has played this game for any length of time has experienced weirdness. I've had a last remaining target NPC Cruiser go from 50% structure left to full shields/armor/hull and had to take it down again.

So my comments were talking about taking the bigger picture into consideration and not just shoe horning a Killboard into an assumption about how people are or how they play. People can take time to learn things, it doesn't mean they're stupid or that they didn't see what they saw.

This thread lost me a couple posts in, but that's normal as I do not really understand the jargon (WTF is a "pew-pew?), but somebody mentioned a kill-board link that I never saw. Only thing I do know is CCP has launched some rather nasty rats; one entered a belt where I had two well tanked Skiffs working. I never did receive much damage but it took forever for my ten Hammerhead 2's to kill it. but then CCP paid me 2.5 mil for the kill. I doubt there are any full blown "experts" in this game; there are so many different ways to play and then, once you seem to get your own little part in hand then CCP nerfs this, buffs that and changes it so that it's not really the same game anymore. Kind of cool, that: Keeps people awake.

"Pew-Pew" is a slang term for combat and it's child activities. In EVE it generally is used to describe ship to ship PvP.

Yes, there are some nasty RATs out there. Drifters and Sleepers (and during the event Serpentis and Angels) can be lurking with some nasty ships. My only advice is never engage the Circadian Sleepers, they are a mess to tangle with. The Serpentis and Angel Cartel ships can suck up some damage but they don't do much. I solo the shipyard sites in my Cruiser. They force me into armor and I have to turn my armor enhancers on and spot turn on my rep module, but I don't have to burn Cap batteries which is a sign their DPS is poor. I wouldn't really consider them too nasty unless your ship isn't fitted or flow properly.

Killboard links generally aren't allowed outside of the Crime and Punishment section. They tend to be used as a way to brag about ones skills in ship to ship PvP, but they can also be used in a way to attack other players and their perceived 'skills', thus as a rule they are restricted in use in the forums.

I apologize if any of my posts helped create confusion for you. I've been known to be less than clear at times and have to come back and re-explain my intent.

(WTF is a "pew-pew?),

Some digging back in the mental archive. To it's origin use in game lingo. its old to ancient in use.

Context: " EvE has sound? "

Pew-pew is the sound of weapons fire one might imagine wile listening to other audio inputs during game play.

Pew-pew interchangeable / synonym word use shoot, fight, brawl.

Origin the sound children make animating the sound of toy guns during play.

Term: "Orion slave-girl" has not been widely adopted.

I wonder if it is to do with this Serpentis Event. I have some tasks that say things like Kill 5 Drifter BS or Killer a Drifter with a frigate (cos that's going to happen). So I wonder if CCP have up'd the Drifters so people can do the Serpentis tasks.

I've been on a couple of missions where the NPC was blue and turned red, but not many, and they didn't turn onto Drifters they just went form blue to red.

I do believe it was a Shadow of the Serpentis site. You may have hit the nail on the head. I did return too loot my wreck in a rookie ship with no agro (which I also found strange). The Drifters where still roaming.

Cheers for positive input :)

Thanks for the on topic replies folks.

I see lots of people declaring their superiority because 'killboards', proclaiming OP has no idea, and then explaining nothing to OP to help him out. If you're so superior, then tell him what the **** is going on, instead of lording it over him. Galaxxis, your KB ain't nothing special either. Neither is mine, but mine is better than yours, and if KBs are the deciding factor on whose opinions matter most, then I win. They're not though, and are actually irrelevant, killboards are cancer and this game would be ten times better without them. They're nothing but a ****-measuring feature that causes people to do exactly this - conflate **** size with opinion relevance.

Well, again, if you're so superior, Galaxxis, if you know what's going on, then why don't you give OP a hand and explain it to him? Or would you rather continue gloating about how you've participated in 100+ kils with 100+ mates helping you out on each one? Cuz.... my 1000+ kills are 49% solo. In frigates.

Kind of a lot of high sec deaths. Me thinks you don't really know what's going on in EVE mechanics.

Meh it happens to me all the time.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Hey Guys/Gals

I had a strange occurrence happen to me yesterday and thought i'd write a post to see if this is a bug or a new feature/ship killer.

I warped to an abandoned Mining Colony and saw the usual NPC's.. Started out on the frigates then boom 4 of my locked targets turned blue. A bit surprised i was trying to understand what was happening. Is my client playing up etc.

In the confusion i was being neut-ed webbed and scrammed. needless to say my HAC didn't survive and quite frankly i thought they were going to eat my pod to but this didn't occur.

Has anyone else seen this type of thing.

Let me guess, you crazy man, what could have happened:

1. One or more of the frigates were actually players and you got CONCORDed
2. Gankers arrived on grid without you noticing and took out your HAC
