How to transfer VIPS into cargo hold?

I have already asked for help on the online chat, and many gave helpful information, but doing what they said doesnt work for me

This is an Agent mission to transport VIPS to another location simple enough, But I cannot GET the VIPS onto the ship !!

I have attempted to drag and drop the VIP container into the cargo hold, but NOTHING happens! I have spent about 20 mins trying to figure out something which should be rather simple but nothing works.

Ive been playing online games for over 20 years so I have some sense how things should work but this is defeating me

how do I accomplish this simple act of moving a VIP container onto my ship?

Try transferring the VIP's from the container into the hold - not the container they are in.

Only thing I can think of based on what you have described!

I cant seem to even open up the cointainer to get the VIPS out, They are listed on the personal assets but I cannot get them out of there

Alt-C and open items hanger. Drag from there into your cargohold.

Personal assets (alt-t) is a list that you can't drag and drop from.

If that doesn't work. Look up the mission on http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports&show_comments=1

Since this is a mission objective item and the VIP's were already in the container, you won't be able to open the container.

What is the mission name ?

How large is your cargohold ?

How large is the container ?

More than likely you'll either have to add Expanded Cargohold modules to your ship or use an Industrial Transport ship. Without more info it's very hard to think up a possible solution to your problem.

EDIT :

You probably already know this but to load the item into your cargohold, you have to be in the same station.

Generally there are 3 types of courier mission.
1. Agent gives you cargo at station - it will be in your item hanger and not in any other container.
2. Cargo is at another station and you are required to fly there and pick it up - if you can see the VIP's in your personal assets - this is probably the type of mission you have. Cargo will be in your item hangar at the other station - agent will have given you a bookmark or you can right click in your personal assets and set destination.
3. Cargo is in a mission container in space - you will need to use the bookmark given by your agent to find the container, close to within 2500 meters, open the container and loot it.

You can read the mission instructions in your journal - you may have missed something hidden in the wall of text.

All 3 types are included in the tutorial chains offered by the career agents.

this sounds to me like you are trying to transfer the VIP into the same location that they are already in. If you are already docked in the same station as the VIPs and still can not figure it out, click on the triangle pointed to the right near the top of the container's header. This will open a list of locations. The current one will be highlighted.

Example if you are docked in a station where the only potential locations are your item hangar and your ship's cargohold then that is all you will see in that list. Make sure one of them is your item hangar and one is your ship's cargohold. Another option is right clicking on your ship, if you load into the hangar ( meaning that you don't use captain's quarters ), and select "Open Cargohold" then open your item hangar by going into the neocom menu ( The stylistic looking "E" at the top left of your screen by default ) and then going into inventory then "Open Item Hangar"
