Citadels supposed to be a corps home. Dont want to be in my ship all the time when docked. Also cause the citadel interior frys my graphics card its too hot in there anyway.

Why dont you remove the bounty center icon and put a link to captains quarters instead. CQ is already in the client.. how hard could it be to add a link to load it from a citadel.

Thanks for your attention.

LOL, the "Bounty Button". The presence of this in EVE is like the drunken uncle at the dinner table. It's Nature's way of telling us nobody's immune to implementing dumb ideas. The "Bounty Button."

What makes it so absurd is, all it does is show you a list of all the a-holes playing EVE in descending order.

Moar useless information, please! Bandwidth is as plentiful and cheap as nitrogen. Burn it, baby. Burn it!

If we get chased by zombies, I'm tripping you.

Sorry but CQ is the horse that won't die.

As soon as it was implemented everyone said they didn't want it, but it is (apparently) impossible tor emove from the gamecide. Just ignore CQ and play EvE

Alternatively remove CQ from stations too. Balance and happiness.

It's not really that nobody wanted it, so much as that when it came out it was so half-assed that people felt cheated. CCP had been hyping WiS for years before that, showing all these cool looking tech demos and stuff, and then it comes out and it's a single trashed studio apartment that you couldn't do anything but walk around in, and was developed in lieu of actual necessary fixes. CCP eventually released the other three, but they were still nothing compared to what had been hyped.

People got pissed because they had all been waiting for this big thing and it turned out to be nothing, worse than nothing, really, because it had taken time away from fixes, then the whole internal "greed is good" snafu happened too with microtransactions, and everyone lost their minds and CCP got scared and stopped working on WiS.

But it looks like maybe WiS might come back, with the new FPS that they're working on and stuff. It's been a learning process for CCP, that they need to have teams working on multiple things, and so-called "jesus features" really need to be less of a hard focus.

the entire bounty system is a joke. you never here " i want to play eve online cause i want to hunt for bounties" its stupid! and its even more stupid to have a bounty icon in citadels..

citadels need interiors, i see no problem with them they were on sisi and it worked wonderful.. it provided 3 options to view while docked.. why this wasn't put on live is beyond me.

sick of their stupid visions.. its pretty freaking stupid to think you would build a fawking station with no where to walk around and the station itself has roaming lights all over it to give a sense of life.

So, replace the button for one useless feature with the button for another useless feature? Captain's quarters was dead-on-arrival, and most players don't give it a second thought. Same with the bounty system, that's only used by newbies who don't know how little affect it has on anything. How about we remove both buttons from stations and citadels!

Half right, definitely true that CQ was over-hyped and that it was more that everyone was disappointed than that no one wanted it in the first place. Also not really true to say that it took away from fixes, but it probably did eat the art pipeline for a while and took away from other potential development.

I think if CCP had developed it slower and hyped it less it would probably still be growing, but as it is they're scared to touch it again.

Almost everything else that happened around that time, including "greed is good" was basically players misunderstanding or willfully misinterpreting leaks and other things CCP were putting out. This was exacerbated by CCP all being on their summer vacations so there were like 3 devs (at least one of which was on his vacation) trying to put out fires in 20 different places.

This should be a quote in a Game Dev article somewhere. There is no such thing as a "Jesus feature" that will magically breath new life into an established game. Shooting for WiS like it was one is probably the biggest mistake CCP made here. Good insight with this comment! :Big smile

Oh, I completely agree with this. It was just a big, dumb misunderstanding in what was an internal brainstorming debate. I think WiS would be better worked on with the current release schedule rather than the bi-yearly schedule.

It seems like a whole lot of time, effort and resources to add a bunch of superficial crap that doesn't have any effect on game play. I'll be blunt for some of you - having a corp / alliance meeting on 3rd party comms IS NOT enhanced by viewing a bunch of avatars sitting around a table. That's just not the kind of gameplay that keeps the type of folks that stay with eve interested.

Unless I can gut my CEO and have that gutting actually affect game play - the whole Barbie thing is lost on eve. It would be something to look at on patch day and then ignore until the next patch added something and over time even that will be left by the wayside. Making it evelike and allowing a meaningful CEO gutting is a whole different game. It's taken them over half a decade to remove POS from the game (close but STILL not quite done), what would be a reasonable timeframe to give them to add something as big as CEO gutting to the game?

If they did it right it would take years. By then the game the were modifying would be patched into something newer and wouldn't quite fit, so they would have to keep updating the new features as they went, which adds more time. Projects like this inevitably end up being and endless resource sink. Eventually a new CEO comes on the scene and kills the lumbering beast that never quite was. It's hard enough to keep the game current with hardware advances - imagine trying to keep a whole WiS suite up to date as you were writing it.

The only other option is to slowly phase in features - as you can see - that ain't working for them.

Let this crap go. There are quite a few games out there that have Barbie as a core feature - sub to one of them and play barbies when you want barbies and play eve when you want to be an epic immortal space hero. You can do both!

Note: I would probably poison my CEO anonymously because that's how I roll.
Note: As this character is a CEO, I'm obviously against any form of CEO termination Smile

Well we just talking about adding back a link to an already ingame feature.

However if CCP were ever to revisit CQ and actually add content. Id support the following limited and gameplay enhancing stuff.

- Display rack to put your heads of your most memorable pvp kills with a user editable plaque mentioning ship and fight.

- Trophy case to show 500 pvp kills. 500 missions run, 1000 signatures scanned etc. etc

- New player tutorials on screens

- Eve monthly news show with selectable channels Sov, low, wh high news and major fights, eve economy and industry information.
Turn off and on ability.

I think a good use of captains quarters is for it to memorialize a players game experience.

I agree all the ideas of FPS in stations (within eve client) or corp meetings is not viable and will take to much dev time.

The only way I would support a corp/alliance quarters if it had a planning table, like the dust one, except one that was actually functional, so you could use it to give actual briefings for fleet Ops or discuss strategic planning.
That would be an actual functional in game benefit, and yes you can use third party websites for that, but you shouldn't have to use third party apps and sites to play the game.

if CQ is removed, can I get all my apparel reimbursed?

Why does Eve have pants and shoes if portrait is like a Billy Idol video clip (nothing below the waist)

The option should be available for those who want to use it, if you don't like it, don't use it.

GET RID OF FPV CAMERA!!

Guys ,

do u recognize that similar discussions always divides the crowd in two factions ,?

1)the firsts wants more touchable realism tru the implementation of better CQ , citadels and places where u can walk around
and actually see the other pilots , and so on .....maybe planet landing ??( no ..this is just my dream)

2)the seconds just don't give a damn about this aspect .....

the only thing i don't get is why the second group trying to block all the initiative the group 1 purposes ......
if u guys are not interested in such thing ( position the i respect ) why bother if some new feature will be released ??

Because resources like time and money are not unlimited. Any feature of any size and scope consumes these resources which in someway detracts from other features.

I have no problem with such pointless features as space barbies, as long as its way WAY down on the 'to do list'. Id rather see new drone models, updated ship models, prettier pi, and models for all the other hi-slot modules at least, before space barbie
