Due to how the fleet stuff works, you can't list the fleet you're a member of. It's not actually stored on your character. You have to hand in a link manually, from the client.

Well, that doesn't make much sense.
The need to have an FC (fleet boss) to manually enter the ID (or url of the fleet) on a form in order for a system to fetch/track the fleet is not practical. If the fleet boss is authenticated with is token with an app, why can't a simple fleet/charID fetch a list of fleetIDs (or actually just ONE fleet since each person can only be in ONE fleet).
Just my two cents on this one.

As for the 'documentation', my personal feeling is that all this CREST is a strange Wormhole with every 3rd party dev in EVE trying to discover the way to Thera. It's crazy. If this stuff is being developed by CCP, why can't their developers simply publish a list of their notes on the 'approved' endpoints and how to get things.

It seems to me that all this 'CREST' stuff could be magical for us but it's still being very badly handled by the person in charge of the implementation.
As a player and developer i would expect a better support and not be depending on the great work and effort of CSM, CCP staff, etc that try to cover the holes of information that should be more clear to 3rdpartydevs.

The fleet thing (I believe) is down to how the fleet stuff is implemented. If the api had been planned from the very beginning of implementing fleets, then it would be more 'sensible'. But we're years down the road here. It would be a bunch of work to change, and the time that work would take can be more productively spent elsewhere. so we're left with a small manual step, to enable a fairly powerful endpoint.

Alex, I'll take "Reasoned Responses for 20bn, please."
