I am sort of in the same situation. Left the game for a year and my old corp moved across the galaxy leaving me stranded in a station that I am red to now. Black Frog doesn't service it. Have a JF and a good load of stuff but due to the JF nerfs cannot reach an NPC station in one jump. However, I can in two. So I am thinking about doing a lot of pre-planning and jumping through an empty system that isn't well traveled. Set up some safe spots and log off a cyno in that system. Have a cyno set up at the NPC station. Light cyno in system 1, undock JF, align and warp to another safe spot that is as far away from jump in point as possible. I have a 2 minute cool down period to wait for the next jump and cap has to recharge anyway. Undock cyno at NPC station and light it up when JF has recharged cap and cool down period over. I can either jump to NPC then, or leave fleet and safe logoff the JF untilo better conditions occur.
Seems to me my vulnerable time is that 2 minutes. Would it be better I wonder to immediately leave fleet after that first jump and safely logoff? That's only 30 seconds.
Any thoughts anyone?
Sounds like a pretty good plan of action.

I'd say to maintain ease of mind and to keep things simple, just leave fleet after first jump and safely log off, then come back another day after cooldown time is done and finish the move.

Anyway, welcome back to Eve and good luck to you.
